Getting ready to relocate my rear diff vent and was wondering if anyone had used any kind of a spray sealent on the electrical connections for the locker at the rear diff and the transfer case connections. They don't look very water resistant. Looking on line I see quite a few different products so I am hoping someone has used a product that seemed to have worked. If I am concerned about a non-issue let me know.

Standard dielectric works, or you can buy marine dielectric.

Toyotas water sealing is top notch and is rarely an issue.

If you do it, do the ABS Connectors and the rear diff harness to body connector, they are the most overlooked and easiest to corrode.

Lastly, I'm seeing a lot of diff breather relocates have issues lately, the hoses are gumming up and causing leaks from pressure. So I would suggest removing the hose at 50,000 or so and just clean it out. On top of regular breather checks.

Not directly related to this post, but do you know if the HV cable corrosion issue has been solved on the RAV4 hybrid?

It's rare, we've seen one or two at my large dealer. It's definitely been addressed on newer models.

Super expensive repair, but I Believe warranty was extended for them.
