Exactly what I was alluding to. Changing linkages and angles is all in the camp of modification. My Bedrug, faux-pro grille not so much; just nice add-ons. I had a Meso gas hole painted body color by my buddy who works as a painter. I wouldn't consider this a mod either.

I have 'another car' and did a custom driveline and had custom driveshafts made, EFI conversion. Still not on the road. So I bought the Tacoma to take to the desert and off road places with my boys, everything I intended for the other project. Can take it far out and then park it in the hotel without drama.

Only 'mods' I am doing now are things that don't affect reliability or drive ability, such as frame and spindle gussets, some interior work, and audio system. I guess my exhaust re-route borderlines a modification but I am not concerned about that. Until my transfer case solenoid won't work and despite the careful routing and heat shields someone alleges the reroute caused the failure.

Ever take a truly 'modified' car to a regular mechanic to have something repaired? It has the potential to ruin your day.

I like to imagine Tableworld is for discussing and sharing tables of all kinds with a sub forum for custom builds. Some of them are work benches, some of them are for toddlers with sticky fingers and a crayon addiction, and some of them are for people with more money than they know what to do with; but they are all tables and all function as such. Some of us build our own and some of us buy them pre-built.
Not everyone needs or wants a three thousand dollar table to show off at dinner parties with duck confit and roasted sunchoke in their prefab home smack in the middle of some middle class suburban sprawl. For some of us a sturdy, second hand, solid top with leaves and outdated figured legs is just fine.
That analogy is hilariously apt though, especially if true…

OP: looks great, much better than people driving around with mismatched toppers meant for a Tacoma. Glad you posted so some of us cheapskates know it’s possible

So for my 2 cents, some people have a 5 & 10 foot rule, if you can't notice something from that distance. No worries.

    auskip07 asked it that's a real degree?

Well of course it is/was. She had an MFA and progressed into cabinetry and furniture building with an artistic inspiration with the MA. Now she teaches a software program for the woodworking industry. Earns a good living, likes what she does, and has worked from home since before it was cool.

Can you point out or identify where the fit isn’t perfect, it looks like the overhang at the rear is the only thing I can identify, what does it look like where it meets the top of the back of the cab?

Anyone interested in mismatched shell aesthetic, https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...one-topper-and-truck-its-the-best-way.632404/

Lol punctuation matters, especially commas. A sample:
I have already eaten, your friend Mary said.
    Or
I have already eaten your friend, Mary said.

There was a comma up there...

I mean if we are arguing semantics, shouldn’t it be: “I have already eaten”, said your friend Mary. A better example would have been:

“Let’s eat grandma” vs “Let’s eat, grandma”

Do you have some photos of the fit? I'm on the hunt and have seen a good number of tundra toppers but passed on them thinking they wouldn't fit!

I’ve got the same setup and it works pretty damn well! How did you handle clamping the camper down to the bed? Looking for advice, right now all I’ve got is some C clamps to the bed rails.
