I installed my SSO bumper earlier this year and love it. I've been slightly bothered by creaking now when I go over bumps and I'm 99% sure the tolerance between the bumper and the plastic I trimmed is too tight so it's rubbing.

My question for the more educated is, is this a problem? Besides the creaking is there any harm in having it sit so tightly? I'd rather not pull off the bumper and trim it back another 1/4" if I don't have to. I figure it might be easier to just get used to the creaking lol

    Appreciate the help!

A bit of a gap isn’t a bad idea. If you hit anything with the bumper it gives you a bit of room for flex before it damages the body.

if you are just on the street or light wheeling, likely just an annoyance.

Yeah makes sense, I think I was looking for an excuse to be lazy but makes sense to just suck it up and cut it back a bit.

You could also pull off the bumper and drive with it removed to confirm before trimming… it may be something else making noise.
