Sad story about your friends. I love yamaha dirt bike, had on at age of 15, I think it was a "DT 250" . I wish I buy one again. My other favorites are ; cb750-kz900, see them for sale on facebook and craigslist sometimes, either they asked too much for a running one , or can not fix them by mytself.

First bike was a brand new Hodaka, Road Toad...

Great little bike but the company didn't make it in the U.S.

I told my son, "You... will marry the girl I choose."

    He said, "NO!"

I told him, "She is Bill Gates' daughter."

    He said, "OK."

I called Bill Gates and said, "I want your daughter to marry my son."

    Bill Gates said, "NO."

I told Bill Gates, "My son is the CEO of World Bank."

    Bill Gates said, "OK."

I called the president of World Bank and asked him to make my son the CEO.

    He said, "No."

I told him, "My son is Bill Gates' son-in-law."

    He said, "OK."

(Something we shall not name works the same way)

A little something every chance we get.
I thought season would be over by then - I am ignorant of hunting season timings.

But, I saw this! Probably not filling or tasty, but could look good on the garage!

Many years ago just after my divorce I dated a women who was a “biker”. She drove a beautiful BMW motorcycle. I use to kiddingly call her my biker chick girlfriend. She had long blond hair and wore tight black leathers and I think I better not say any more. I do wonder what became of her. I also think it’s better my wife not see this post. I’ve been married for 30 years so even if she does see this I think I’m ok.

Red Kawasaki 650 here. There used to be another guy on base that had the same bike and he'd run from the cops and they'd see my bike parked at work and come in and ask whose bike it was.... When I said mine, they left. He didn't stick around long. Riding season was short @ Fairbanks.... No year round riding up there

    LOL... that brings back memories.

The group of people I hung around with after college had a guy that had a very nice Triumph. He also had a Dobermann that he swore was a trained guard dog. One day he jumped on the bike to go somewhere and just before turning the key he remembered he'd left something in the house. He rushed into the house to grab what he'd forgotten, passing by his dog that was in the front yard, and when he came out of the house, almost immediately, the bike was gone... and the dog had never barked.

I remember a movie back in the day that had a shapely girl riding a motorcycle and it was titled, Naked Under Leather. I don't remember anything but that, so the movie must have been disappointing.

I once had a Triumph Trophy 500 single. (Fonzy bike) I think I bought it for $75. It was sitting in some guys yard, I gave him some sob story about needing it because I was a poor student needing transportation. Sold it for $500 after I got it running because I needed money for College Tuition. I did get to ride it for awhile. Man, I wish I still had that bike!

Go for it. I have a few friends on them now due to health issues. I understand they ride more like a snowmobile or a 4-wheeler than a motorcycle but you still get many of the same feelings. I haven't ridden any of them yet myself but would take a test ride given the chance.

My ex rides her own bike and can outride a lot of men I've ridden with. Bought her Harley Super Glide brand new in 1997 and had extensive work done to it. 90HP at the rear tire on the dyno and she used every one of them. Went down when she hit an oil spill in the road on her way to work and bike was totaled. By then we'd gotten into long distance rallying and another Super Glide really wasn't the best tool for the job. We found her a good deal on a 2008 BMW F800ST with factory low suspension and she bought that. 85HP but nearly 200 pounds lighter than the Harley. She still has that bike but rarely rides anymore from what I understand.
