    I believe yes. 2 is 1, 1 is none.
    I have 2 500s.
I can switch between them, charge in the sun while the other runs the Dometic.

The 550 from the costco page.

    Multiple Charging Methods Available

With Jackery Explorer 550 Portable Power Station, you'll never have to worry about finding a wall outlet for recharging. Multiple other charging methods like solar panels(1*SolarSaga 100W, 8H to fully-charged), car outlets(8H to fully-charged), or wall charge(7H to fully-charged) ensure you'll have the power to charge your gear anywhere, anytime.

It depends on how you plan to use it. Having had a 1000 and 500, I would hands down choose the 1000 over two 500s. That's just my personal preference. The 1000 will last twice as long (duh) and can have two solar panels hooked up....meaning you can charge it just as fast. It has an 8mm barrel connector and an anderson plug for hooking up power input. Plus, the max load is twice as much...essentially 500W for the 500 and 1000W for the 1000.

If you need power in multiple places, then the 2 500s might be the way to go. As @2Toyotas stated, he can charge one and use one at the same time. So there is that benefit. The trade off though, is you can power larger devices with the 1000. If you live somewhere that has power outtages, the 1000 might be better suited for your needs.

Edit: another thing worth mentioning. My 500 would trip the temp sensor in the truck and stop charging. I'd sometimes put a panel in the bed of the truck and feed it through either the back sliding glass or through one of the back windows. On a hot day, even using the solar panel to block the window (from the outside), it would get too hot inside the truck. The 1000 has a fan that will help to keep the unit cool. I don't think it is advisable to charge in a 100*+ vehicle, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

    Thanks
Yes, I do not need the larger capacity.

    Another reason.
Last trip, for some reason the charge connection came loose. We arrived at our destination and found out the Jackery 500 was at zero. I could switch to the other and keep the Dometic running overnight and charge both on the drive the next day.

I would like to get a 1000, but would still like a backup.
That said, the 240 works overnight running the Dometic cooler.

I got my 1,000 in the mail yesterday. Got it charged and testing it out with my Dometic fridge today. The fan came on and stayed on for a bit. It's way louder than I expected. It's definitely louder than my 10 year old Dometic fridge. Is that normal?

Depends on the conditions. If the unit is in a cool place, no, that is not normal. If it's in your truck, or in direct sunlight....then yes, that is normal.

Always try to keep the battery shaded when charging. I see a lot of people on social media have the unit in full sun. Don't do that. If nothing else, use the solar panel to at least partially shade it.

How many different versions of the 1000 are there anyways? I bought the 1000 pro a month or so ago for $729. It seemed like a good price but now I'm seeing so many other version of the 1000 that I don't know which way is up! lol

Another reason I like the 500 is the smaller size than the 1000. It fits behind the seat, on the floor with other stuff I need there. 2 500s are easier to place or move.
But, I do not have the high power needs of some of you.

I have a 5x8 trailer and a 750 watt milk house heater keeps it cozy, the 500 won't run it so I needed the 1000. Works well for that need.

I sold my original Explorer 1000. I thought it was too big, as it took up pretty much the entire (though small) floorboard behind the passenger seat. I've pretty much missed it since I sold it.

I now have a Pro and a Plus...both in the box. I'll let you know thoughts soon.

I cruise the Amazon jungle once in a while.
Today I see a 300 dollar off coupon for the 1000.

Looks like Jackery is once again following Amazon with their Prime day deals. In years past, this has been one of the best sales of the year. If you look at post #1, you'll see that 33% is about the maximum discount that Jackery offers. I pretty much, at this point, wouldn't consider a purchase unless it was at least 25% off.

The Explorer 1000 is near 40% off right now. They have a MSRP of $1099 and it is currently going for $699, making it the same price as @2Toyotas posted above. The advantage to ordering through Jackery, as opposed to Amazon, is Jackery is refunding the purchase price to a customer per day now through October 11.

Probably them or Bluetti? I've been extremely pleased with my Jackery stuff. If that every changes, I will be certain to update here.

    I have 3 Jackery ... 1 240, and 2 500s.
    Always work.
I have given away at least 5 240s to family. No complaints.

I am just asking with the idea of prices as time goes by.
