I know things age fast online but I'd hate to think the internet's already forgotten "Thanks, Smokey!"

I barely look at the words or what it is I'm printing, anymore. My job is to keep the print clean, fitting together and looking like a digital proof. All while making sure paper is in, web tension is suffiecient enough not to break or cause wrinkles/blurring. Ink is being supplied at the right density, temperature, film so it properly evaporates the solvents going through the dryer, enough so it will set while going over the chill rollers so the ink sets correctly..(Not losing gloss, picking, offsetting and again) Monitoring temps of fountain solutions, ink and rollers. Oven temps/chill temps.
Then we get into the folder portion.
    I'm not going further. lol
Words better be sorted out before they get to me.

I was sheetfed. Sorta got stuck on web after the only guy that knew how to run it, left.
I was the only one there who had an idea how. Knowing how to turn it on was a start.
Then it was, Here's 20 different manuals......figure it out.

I can't even imagine! There are so many things to watch and adjust, all while that roll of paper never stops.

    Ya. Makes the head spin.
All those manuals are why I get a sour taste in my mouth when the tacoma manual gets treated like the bible.
If I followed the manuals to the T, none of my rant from above would work, together. Too many variables.
Manuals are starting points in my eyes.

Normally I wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot pole but it's a slow day at work and it's bothering me a bit. So here's my unsolicited pile of poop opinion on things.
In this case, Jonathan was talking about a co-worker who likely doesn't have a Toyota otherwise we'd already know them. The group has already met another friend/co-worker (Ingo) and he is good people despite owning a Jeep, so knowing this information I'd say Jonathan has good judgement in character. But maybe not everyone here has met Jonathan in real life. You can't know everything from an internet message board.

Eat a Snickers and chill. Major overreaction and saying things like we are all assholes is not cool. Huge leap going from "I don't like some random guy's post on the internet" to "I wish I never served my country." Maybe you can find it within yourself to reflect on these posts and understand that sometimes words/emotions don't convey perfectly across the internet. Everyone on this forum that I've met in real life has been pretty darn cool. So be cool, it ain't that serious.

100% agree with this take, exactly how I imagined it. I also would not enjoy sharing the trail with people who don't make good decisions or act inappropriately/unsafely.

Thanks for being hostages at my TED Talk.
