Yeah, I'd see about getting a new built motor from Texas speed or another shop. I know blueprint uses seasoned blocks, but it might be a little cheaper?

I looked at those, but for 200$ more I can have a fully forged rotating assembly. Seems like a no brainer.

When looking at complete rotating assemblies on summit, the difference between cast hupereutectic pistons rods and crank, versus forged pistons rods and crank is like 60$. Why not go forged?

I’ll have a motor capable of 1000 wheel, I can throw a blower on if I felt like in the future.

$9700 all said and done for the completely built and sealed long block. Any objections to this here?

I probably wouldn't go that aggressive. It would be super choppy and idle very rough, plus usually those cams only make the big power at super high rpm's. Also, without a very high stall converter, you won't be getting the power immediately because a stock converter will hit around 1800rpm, when you're really low in the power band.

I went with the truck norris cam which is relatively mild, but is focussed on low-mid range torque, so it's getting around 450tq of its peak 490 torque around 3000rpm. I combined that with a 2800 stall converter (didn't want to go super aggressive on the converter) so that the converter hits just as the power band is starting to really build. Obviously I haven't driven it yet, but I think that combo is going to work really well.

I have a 2800-3200 stall converter in the 4L75E. I think I’ve kinda decided to just build the LS6. I looked at blueprint and gave them a call today but I don’t think I get any benefits over the LS6 besides the warranty. And I’d still have to tear it apart, put my oil pump and oil pan on, get a new Holley wiring harness and some other shit that puts me at the same cost. I’ll have a 6.3L LS6, cammed, ported heads, forged rotating assembly. Sounds pretty good, minus the price but no matter the direction I go it’s going to be about the same price.

I'm just talking about the two cams you mentioned. I would stick with a milder lower power band one personally that has better driveability.

Yeah probably a good idea. I’m just a whore for a nasty chopping cam.

Stay with the top one; second choice is way too rowdy with the lower lsa and you'll have to rev it up quite a bit to make any power from it. It wouldn't be good for driving around town.

First choice will still chop idle nicely if that's what you're seeking and will make decent power off the low end. Anything more than around 227/230ish is wasted efforts on the smaller LS1/LS6 346 blocks.

The tick performance sns stage 2 is one of my favorites for the 346, but not a great choice for a truck application.

Fuel regulator reinstalled and fuel lines ran and tucked up. Trying to make my life easier when the LS gets back.

The same PITA statement can be said about my fully uniball suspension and bypass shocks. This truck will be dailied, and when I’m tired of the rattles and loud and everything I’ll go hope in my IS.

The vacuum thing is a pretty good point, losing brake assist sucks. Are you stroking it to 6.3L? That'll help mellow any cam out.
