I think its holding that winder in place. We better get an engineer in here to tell us what breaking strength of a 2 inch ratchet strap is lol, speaking of, ratchet straps dot com has pretty good prices on heavy duty stuff...

    Wow...

At 13 or so feet high I hope it wasn't a windy day.
The coach is heavy enough to have a tag axle too.

You know, I have never really failed an actual strap due to tensile load. I have failed some of the ratchet mechanisms and I have had straps break but it's because I was doing something that abraded or cut the strap. Pulling out a stump for example. Strapping something with sharp edges. I do know most straps have a 4:1 safety factor so if it is good for 1,000lb it will not break until 4,000 lb in pure tension. Problem is, just the action of strapping something down means it is going to have uneven loading. A 2" strap is probably good for 10K breaking strength in pure tension, but every application is different.
For reference, I always grab the strap, tug on it and say "This ain't going anywhere." That is a magical phrase.

I've had some tear because of sharp edges.

I've seen these on loads with sharp edges, I should get some. They're only $1.35 each.

Yeah, but that requires me to be smart enough to pack it in the truck, when I can barely remember to put the strap in the truck.

    Side story you might like....
I have not had a "bit sharpening" evening in awhile, so some of my bits are not as sharp as they could be right? So I am counterboring the maple and then a straight drill through the maple into the Pecan to attach the skirt pieces. By the 2nd hole, there was a extremely pleasant Pecan smell wafting through the shop. By the 10th hole, I was afraid of setting off the smoke detector, but the smell was wonderful and Pecan wood is hard.

Its common enough here that when I get ready to run one in the shop I always have the air nozzle ready. Amazing how often that's all that's wrong

My 60hp merc looks like it has a female hose thread around where the telltale comes out, I wonder if I could make a cap to screw on to keep the bugs out.

The thread should be the same as a garden hose. That's there to back flush the cooling system, flush out junk.

Dont run it on that though...

This truck is violating all kinds of highway safety code in the book. Surprisingly the truck is moving with no cops follow.

Cole had his final regular season game yesterday. We have a kid on our team who lives to steal bases. If he gets a walk and there's nobody on 2nd, he trots to 1st and runs to 2nd cause it's still a live ball.

Last night he was on 2nd with a guy on 3rd. 3rd base runner went home, slid, was safe. Base stealer went to 3rd and was paying attention, pitcher and catcher were not because blue was standing on home plate cleaning the dirt off with his foot. Base stealer heads for home cause blue hasn't called time, he slid in with the ump standing on the plate, he called him safe, patted his chest and said "that's my bad". Base runner immediately looked up at him and said "I'm sorry ump but I had to".

A little later blue walked over to our dugout to ask something and was talking. I said let me ask you something, is that the 1st time you've ever had a runner slide home with you standing on it? He smiled and said yes and I'm not to proud of that either :rofl::rofl:

*A guy I know* learned that a studded tire will chew through a lasso strap in about 200 miles on a car trailer.
    .
    .
    .
Just for the record one generally has a pair of studded tires on the vehicle and also puts straps on both tires...:mad:

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
just a bed a little to short I have hauled many things when it would have meant a return trip of a few hundred miles.

Once the rear wheels were supported by Dolly wheels that got some interesting looks.
