checking in. no furnace concerns for me yet. And this weekend it'll be amazing in Maine...70's and sunny, which is where I'll be. At least for a minute. Portland > Spruce Head Thursday. Spruce Head > Dover NH Friday to see my pregnant daughter and meet the mofo...er...young man responsible. He's stepping up though.

    upload_2023-10-24_10-51-57.png

He's only ever lived in Maine, so he and my girl are shopping for a starter home. Sanford to Wells and south. Cargo Shorts in Chicago in Oct....come on man...

On Saturday we celebrate my Mom's 90th in Dover, Sunday, back to Portland and gone....

life ain't boring. I'll be a Grandfather (Papa) by March, if all goes as planned.

    Yes.

been years since anything to do with 'Daddy's little girl' isn't a minefield capable of significant devistation. Seriously. A coffee run can lead to months of therapy. that seems to have changed quite a bit since a serious relationship with an actual adult came to be. Getting Pregnant/engaged SEEMS to have brought about some growth and a change in life attitude. The parents among us know what that first kid did to our development. She's 31 and was running WAY behind the curve. I'm guardedly optimistic. It could be a trap.

    I'll leave it there.

My son, her 6'7" older brother, is a pretty harsh critic of her boyfriends. He can't say enough good stuff about this guy. So, yeah, I'm optimistic. "even a blind pig...." and all that. :fingerscrossed:

I wish I had a camera to share with yall what I witnessed today because my coworker and I were laughing so hard that we were crying.
We’re pulling a service line, bout half an hour into it I look behind me because the chipmunks started freaking tf out and not 20’ away a fat assed raccoon is lumbering across the road towards the construction site. We were too far away to warn the guys but we heard the commotion. Apparenty it strolled right into the garage where they were working. About 20 seconds later we see the raccoon go hauling ass across the driveway with the foreman chasing him with a full tool belt still on and claw hammer over his head. One of those ‘had to be there’ things but shit was that funny.
Also.. probably rabid because it was all fucked up and out in broad daylight so we called the local popo to deal accordingly.
