Why did you change it out? Sounds like it was well dialed in.
Anyways GLWS. I've run several Kenwood eXcelon series, great h/u.

The kenwood doesn't auto connect to AA like the Alpine does. That was my main reason. I like to get in the truck and go without fiddling too much.

I’ve got the non navigation version DMX1057XR. This is a phenomenal sounding and functioning head unit. As long as I’ve got my WiFi on my phone turned on it connects straight to my CarPlay. GLWS great unit

I run a DNC997XR in my truck. Kenwood Excelon units are top of the line

Sucks I missed the dash cam. Would have snatched that up. GLWS OP

IMO I was disappointed with the dash cam. Nice that its integraded and all but the sonar thing and price need work.

Any chance you have any pics of the unit installed that are a little further away (AKA from the back seats of your Access Cab)? And any pics of the dash gap (from across one side of the dash to the other)?

    Thanks!

Not from the back seat. But I tried to take it from the arm rest.

This is a pic of my alpine, but very similar in the distance between the dash and kenwood lcd. The distance is maybe .5" total.

See pics above. Also, the bottom of the kenwood lcd, when mounted, had very little space between the lid and dash. Just enough to be able to adjust the lcd downwards to install the screws for the lcd.

Thanks so much and a heck of deal. I think I'd prefer something flush-mounted for my build, though, although this screen-size looks amazing.

    GLWS!

Strange to hear this. My 997XR absolutely auto connects every time I jump in the truck.

Quick questions with the alpine. Did you use the stock mounting bracket or did you use the mounting bracket that came with the kit?

You need a dash kit. Oem radio doesn't have conventional mounting.
