Switch those numbers around and let me know how 63 feels, lol. But I'm still riding!

Speaking of commuting, @BkerChuck or anyone else who does long distances have any suggestions for carrying extra fuel? My bike won't make it 3 days in a row without refueling and I don't like to have to stop at a gas station on the way to or from work.

There's a Costco across the street from where I work but no gas station. :(

Keeping something at home would be a good idea if I didn't forget to take it to get filled up when I fill up the bike (which is why having it on the bike would be useful). Also, a 5 gallon container would make it hard/impossible for me to track my fuel mileage since I wouldn't know how much I put in. If I got a ~1 gallon container I could just add the 1 gallon to my calculations.

Several of the long distance riders I know have auxiliary fuels cells in place of their pillion seats. A few have "tail dragger" fuel systems and others have "pizza box" tanks mounted under the top box.

Pic is my friend Chris Comly's Sportster taken before this year IBR. The box under his tour pack is his "pizza box" fuel tank carrying an extra 5 gallons of fuel.

Here's another example for the IBR

Are these plumbed in to the tank, or does the top box need to be removed to access the tank?

Giant Loop Armadillo bags are not cheap, but come with old school nozzles without the retarded "no spill" nanny stuff that makes a mess. They also collapse down when empty.

Plumbed into the tank. They drill a hole in the underside of the fuel tank and run a hose with a shut off valve from the auxiliary tank to the main tank. When a rider is approaching empty on the main tank just reach down and open the valve and it gravity feeds to refill your main tank then shut the valve. When filling up you fill each tank independently. IBR rules allow these tanks but they must be sturdily mounted, vented, and have a shut off valve. You're also limited to a total fuel capacity of 11.5 gallons counting what is in your fuel lines themselves and these re inspected and if in doubt verified. If found to be over they will make you add something to your auxiliary tank to displace the space that you've over by. I recall a story where one unfortunate rider was made to drop about 6' of steel chain into his tank to take up the extra space.

I wonder how long it will take for a lower fairing to be made. For me, that would top it off

I’m not a fan at all. Too many things I don’t like on it.

I really dislike the black wheels on the FJR. My 2007 had silver and I liked those a whole lot better. The black scratch pretty easily so the reflective red was a way to break up the black, cover some marks, and add another safety feature to the bike. If I were willing to let the bike sit long enough I'd pull the wheels, dismount the tires, and get someone to polish out the lip area up to the center rib of the wheels and just have a nice 2-tone black and silver wheel.

Only thing I DON'T like about this is my age. Not sure my lower back and hips would take to riding this.

I think that is just gorgeous. Sort of an old school race bike look when they weren't fully faired in.

What on earth is there not to like about that? It's....beautiful.

Personally, the only thing I would have liked to see is the Ohlins package from the MT09 SP. Other than that, I think it's cool that it comes with clip-on bars, adjustable "rearsets", flow formed wheels, a Brembo M/C, and the R1 derived 6 axis IMU, among other things. This isn't just an XSR with a pretty dress on.

I guess never say never, but everything I've read only talks about the European market. Hell, they haven't even published pricing for it that I've seen. It would be cool if it came to the NA market considering the men who made that livery famous were Americans.
