What do y’all get mpg “. I have a 2007 4 cylinder 2wd babe and I get about 315 miles from a tank. Yes It has 3” lift and bigger aggressive tires. before the lift and bigger tires I use to get 505 miles from a tank. I know it sucks and that’s big difference

315 or 505 miles/tank is meaningless info. Figure your MPG's and get back with us.

My 07 4X4 DC 4.0 auto gets 17ish mpg for everyday driving. Right at 20 mpg hwy and on rare occasions when everything lined up right as much as 22 MPG. I have slightly oversize 265/75/16's on it. I've had E rated tires in the same size and it made no difference in fuel mileage.

I don't run mine much below 1/4 tank so have no idea, nor do I care, how far it will go before running dry. But in theory a 21 gallon tank @ 20 mpg should go a little over 400 miles on the hwy or about 350 miles for everyday driving. I have never gone much over 300 before buying fuel.

Marshall R is absolutely correct, the number of miles per tank is completely useless information. You start by asking about miles per gallon and then you talk about miles per tank. They ain’t the same and one doesn’t have anything to do with the other. To repeat miles per tank is pretty much a meaningless measurement. As far as ignorance perhaps you should look in the mirror.

It’s just much more accurate to write your miles and fill your tank, when you refuel the next time divide the miles by the gallons used to fill it up. By tank is fine but again just not as accurate.

miles per tank? No idea since I don’t run it dry and overheat the fuel pump.

When do you fill up? When the gas light comes on? Is there a gas station immediately available as soon as the light comes on? Do you bury the needle down past E? How buried are we talking? Still touching the last hash mark, or completely past it? Some people fill up at 1/4 tank. Some people (like me) drive around with the gas light on constantly because I'm lazy and procrastinate

Like it or not, miles per tank is not a very effective way of comparing mpgs. It's the same thing as measuring lift height from the ground to the body instead of center of hub to fender.. a change in tire size throws everything off

The correct way to calculate fuel mileage is to write down miles driven and gallons filled whenever you fill up. Doesn't even matter when you fill up. Could be half tank, 1/4 tank, whatever. Fill it up till it clicks off. Divide the miles driven by the gallons used and repeat for a few weeks. That is some math that everyone can use and share over the internet

OP seems to be a little loose with his terminology but it is false to say MPG and miles per tank are completely unrelated. Downright ignorant to say that miles per tank is completely useless info.

I pay close attention to how many miles I can get out of a tank. Obviously not so I can run the tank dry, but to know whether I can make it to Costco and save a few bucks on my fill up or I gotta fill up in town

so for what it’s worth, I can reliably get 400-420 miles out of my tank. I’ve gotten as much as 450. I average between 18-20 mpg regularly. Higher on long highway trips. Best on a single tank was 21.9

Never actually run out of gas (in the Taco that is), but I always look at how much the tank takes to see how “close” I came for future reference. So far, don’t think I’ve pulled in with less than 1/2 gallon

Damn what's the secret, I get 15.5 mpg in my 07 4x4 v6 auto- bigger tires but no lift. Are my ditch lights causing that much drag? Lol. I got 17 mpg highway when I swapped-on some free 3rd gen takeoffs...

Or use the Fuelly app. I started using it a little over a year ago. Hands down the easiest way to keep track of MPG. see below, I am on a 2" lift with 285/70 R17's

    this what the hell lol

i get not comparing the two because of certain factors but to say they're unrelated? lol obviously miles per tank is not a consistent/reliable measurement unless all other factors are constant, but anyone with half a brain can use the "miles per tank" compared with how much they fill up at their next gas stop to determine their MPG. Fill your tank, reset the trip meter, drive until you fill again, and do some basic math

To answer your question OP, I get about 240/270 miles per tank, usually filling up at 1/8th of a tank. depending on the driving conditions and how heavy my foot is feeling. Sometimes less if it's a lot of steep climbs. 2014 4x4 V6 double cap with a whole bunch of extra weight added onto it. Calculating my actual MPG based on fillups it usually averages around 13-14...which tracks pretty closely with the miles per tank.
