Why Toyota do this? Nav screen sucks

I just purchased a 2023 v6 Taco. Why did Toyota install such a crap Nav screen? Toyota should have the clear, functional nav screen.. the tech option SUCKS - 100 % my opinion..

I wouldn't complain if Toyota just gave up at this point and made the next gen screen completely blank until you plug in your apple carplay/android auto

 

Just wait until you hit the throttle on the freeway.

 

If you have Dynamic Nav, wait until the trial ends and Toyota wants $169 for Nav you don’t like.

Dang!!!! I am sure glad my truck doesn't have that! Mine is a 2016.
I do have to purchase a new "Sim" card with the new data on it, probably
for the same price (Grr), but at least it will last for years to come, and
not blank out things on you.

 

we don't work for big T, so not sure. The Tacoma isn't known for tech,,, even if you paid for it,, sorry.

 

I am happy my Nav does not have a subscription too. I have never updated my maps. It is kind of cool to drive on a newer road and the Nav says I am driving through a field. I rarely use my Nav but when I do it always gets me to my location even with outdated maps.

 

Wait...what?

I did not get a NAV Option with my '21 Sport...but I do use the Apple CarPlay to get Google Maps which works great with my dongle. (hehe)

Anyway, why pay for NAV when you can use network system in the truck?

nevermind the nav. what about the abysmal speaker sound quality. i had to change out literally every component of my 2023s audio system including the headunit. was my very first mod immediately after driving it back from dealer actually ahaha

I'll go the opposite route. What car has a nav map that's even halfway decent? I've never seen one, and I've driven a lot of cars.
