What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Yep, it’s been 4-5 years since I installed those. The clear coat is just now starting to come off. Probably from the car wash I send it through so often. I’ll be replacing with the same ones or maybe even a darker tint here soon.

I remember seeing his post and working to source the parts at that time. I thought his design was nice and clean.
The part I was concerned with is how the screws for the tailgate panel hold up over time. They screw into fixed plastic pieces and I was concerned about the amount of stress the damper would place on them.
If it's been holding for him though, then that's all that matters.

 

Been a WHILE since I've posted on here. Been tinkering on the truck a lot lately. New headlights, and grille. Painted the cup holder trim and installed a USB quick charger. Also added new rocker switches, bumper LED bar, and reverse LED pods. Pulled an entire shoe box full of crappy wiring, inline fuses, and corroding relays from under the hood. Replaced it all with proper gauge wiring and waterproof connections, and tucked it all into wire looms leading back to the new relay box.

 

Put in Winter mats and cleaned the carpet mats.

 

For once I'm going to take before, during and after pics of a project/install. Clazzio seat covers came in early, will update (probably in a few days) when it's all done, but just started prepping. I know there's tons of posts singing their praises, but pleasantly surprised by how supple the vinyl is (for anyone wondering). They legit feel like the leatherette that comes in the Lexus NX series.

 

Threw on the onx6+ on the BAMF hybrid.

Finished my On-board water setup. Pretty stoked with how it came out and the convenience it will offer in the backcountry!

 

Rotated tires.

This set of Duratracs has about 50k miles on em. They’re starting to cup and get loud like the last 3 sets did.

Probably gonna need to replace em within the next 10k miles.

 

Typical for these tires. I moved away from them and never looked back.

 

I need a little more information. Is the water carrier the entire length of the box? Is it a bladder or a pipe setup? If it's that long, did you baffle it for shifting loads under stress? Just more info please

 

That’s the reason I switched after one set, mine were cupping really bad even with regular rotations. Ended up going Nitto grapplers and they’re my favorite tire so far.

 

Same here and same here. Best tires I’ve ever run going on three years with them now. I’ve had a lot of Toyotas and a lot of different tires and they are the best tires.

 

Im happy with em and can get about 60k miles out of a set before they need replaced.

 

Ultimate mod. The payoff.
