I gotta make some hamburger buns today/tomorrow - got all the mise en place done . . .

When my house gets cold, I get stuffs to rise by turnin on the oven @ 200 for a few minutes, then shutting it off and letting em rise in there..
That way I don't get impatient and angry

 

Lol I understand the getting impatient and angry. It's always the breakfast goodies too. Oh let's just whip it up real quick...3.5 hours of hangry later...(or maybe that's just me )

I actually use my dryer for a quick rise, though we usually have a fire going if it's that cold so I don't use it often. I'm too afraid I'll forget whatever is rising in the oven when I goto preheat and it'll be that one time I don't goto look that I ruin something.

 

Wtf is wrong people? Im at chiropractor and someone smells like dirty feet. Cant move or be next to screaming toddler...

Interesting. I kinda have just learned to go with the flow of the seasons and I adjust my water temps but maybe down the road I'll be organized enough to get something like that.

Honestly I just don't have the space currently and I've reorganized the kitchen and pantry more than a time or two. I cook too much variety to keep adding gadgets until I can get better organized. French bread pans, electric hot pot, cast iron tortilla press and comal, etc... So much crap. Fun crap nonetheless, but still...

 

I can tell if someone is lying just by looking at them. I can also tell if they’re sitting or standing.

 

So, I’m cruising around town this morning, paying bills and stuff, letting Apple Music play stuff at random. It knows I’m partial to classic rock and chooses accordingly. So I was a bit surprised when “If I Were A Carpenter” started playing. I looked over at the screen and it was a cover from Robert Plant of all people. THE Robert Plant…from Led Zeppelin. Blew my mind. In a good way.

My water bath took forever to come up to temp so they over proofed a little but the chew on the crust is perfect

 

I actually have a proofing drawer under my oven but it only fits one sheet tray so I don't use it bc I usually have at least two sheet trays of dough to rise.

I know, right? So many absolutely awesome things, but you can only put away so many things (storage) or use so much counterspace. I think my most essential things are my electric kettle, oval crock pot, Kitchenaid 5qt ProPlus lift bowl, and the CIA Vitamix Dry/Wet. Everything else is supplemental gear.

 

I have a friend who is absolutely obsessed with Plant. He played two dates in Texas one year… he went to both shows. He told me (haven’t looked it up), there is supposed to be an album or collection of others covering Plants songs… This is a bit of a trend as a few of my favorites have this scenario.

Exactly. But I love the supplemental. It also doesn't help that I have an equally stupid amount of stoneware and cast iron that I store interchangeably amongst it's counterparts. I will move 10lbs of pans to get to my pizza stone (which I have 2 of, in different sizes, one unglazed and one not....)
