    Hi everyone,

Will the JBL head unit replace the stock head unit in my SR? If so, any advantage to doing so? I find the stock radio/speakers to be pretty underwhelming.

I think you will find it more economical to go to aftermarket on speakers and headunit. You will also find better sound with aftermarket.

The factory HU's pull bass as the volume goes up, have really poor rear output and have low power output in general. The JBL does use an amp and a sub, but would be costly to assemble and require more modifications to install than aftermarket would.

    Great. Thank you.

Agree the bass and the rear output are really bad.

JBL uses a completely different wiring harness, plus 2ohm speakers and it needs the amp/sub from system to work. You can't just swap head units.

My swapping of the headunit made me like the stock speakers just fine for now. The stock entune unit is a bit of an audio turd.

upgrading the headunit opened up menus in my center dash screen for the radio.
