It's a shame SSO happened, it seemed like one of the few companies that (appeared to) have a pretty sterling quality reputation.

The only thing I dislike about plate bumpers on the 3G (and one of the reasons I don't have one) is how much you have to cut to get them onto the truck (bumper, flares and sometimes the grille, although this one looks like you don't need to cut the grille). It looks like you have the strength where you need it and then the wings are what they are. What's your purpose for the bumper? If it's just for a winch mount I put a Warn bumper into my friend's wife's T4R and it seemed to work well, although the powdercoating needs some love. If it's for a winch mount, or to look cool, I don't think it's going to be a problem. If you are planning on bashing things on the regular, then maybe give it some more thought. That being said, I bent my ARB in my accident, so even steel can bend in the right circumstances.

I'm likely not the right person to be commenting on this, though.

I’ll be honest mainly for looks and a winch mount. I like aluminum due to well… less rust to fight to prevent

If I were you (and you had the space) I'd be apt to purchase a pair of flares and a spare front bumper to hack up in case you ever wanted to return the truck to stock to sell it. I know when I did my ARB on my 2013 I purchased a spare Sortafit unpainted bumper (thanks @mach1man001 ) and hacked that up. When my truck was totaled I was able to sell my OEM front bumper to someone here for $200.

Just my thoughts if you run in that direction.

I'm not up on E brake cables but I wonder if you could use pinch bolts or something similar.

Different application but there's something like that for bikes, look at Odyssey Knarps

I just saw this. we borrowed my friends 2nd gen single cab Tacoma on a little Island off MA. It was a manual transmission. We sat three in the front. My kid was in the middle seat, and literally had to put her left leg horizontally behind my legs otherwise she was in the way of the gas brake and clutch. I was like this is ridiculous. I can't believe there's even a seatbelt. We still had fun for the day and I let her shift a few times.

There's a lot of construction on 495 now, probably just the troopers making loops and people tagging them in several different locations. I'd be surprised if there were actually that many on that stretch.

Saw 2 pulled over. One was a guy using dental floss to secure a 15 foot stack of something in the bed of his pick up and it looks like the police officer was explaining tiedown points… The other one looks like a regular speeder pulled over

I have noticed a lot of commercial vehicle stops in the last year or so. There always seems to be a F150 or 250 trooper with a large commercial truck pulled over on the I-95 corridor west of Boston. I don't know what they're looking for specifically, but they're cracking down on something!

Warms my heart to see them actually attempting to enforce load security. People seem to often neglect that fact that whatever you tie to your roof or throw in the bed of a truck becomes a projectile if you have to stop quick or swerve.

Yep. Just a couple miles from my home. Check out Durham, Maine on flightradar24, either the app or online. Click on either of the icons for the two helicopters that will show up on the map and you can see the flight path that each have taken. One is a Maine State Police helo and the other is channel 4 out of Boston.

Odds a day before he pre scuttled the boat and swam back in, drove home so he could return later and it would look like he took off in his boat...but had another mode of transportation at the ready so when he left his car there everyone would be looking for him on a boat...
