I am the second owner. The truck is very clean and well maintained. It had 75,185 miles on it when I bought it in June of 2022. Is it reasonable to expect that the front control arms and the lower ball joints should need to be replaced?
    - Thanks in advance for suggestions.

    Ball joints can be tested.

If they do need replacing, the LCA is the practical way to do it since the ball joints are pressed in as part of the construction process.

1st gens have failures that cause folk to use 100k as a guide for service. 2nd and 3rd gens not so much.

Since failure can be dangerous, I suggest testing them yourself

Or having an independent shop do so.

That sounds fishy to me, but you are giving me very little information and I cannot inspect your truck. Ask for a more detailed explanation and/or get a second opinion.

Did you have alignment issues? Did the front end make any noises or did it feel loose? If your suspension is that worn, you would feel or hear it.

How are we supposed to know. The bushings could shot, they could be fine. Have you crawled under there and looked?

also include if this truck has any suspension work and/or larger tires,, these tend to wear suspension components quicker, especially if not setup properly.

Boots could be cracked, or torn, bushing could be torn, bushes could have where, ball joints could have wear, it’s really hard to say. Either take it to another shop and have it verified, look at it yourself and figure it out, or have the dealership change them.

not sure where you’re located but if you’re anywhere where you get snow and or salted roads in the winter, your adjustment, cam hardware will probably be corroded and may need to be cut out as well as replaced
