I don't quite understand why you need to remove the handle and retrofit things together, seems you could leave it on and use it as the manufacture intended rather than try to reinvent the wheel here.

Hunt around there are Metric to Pipe thread adapter fittings to be had.

This is quite common when installing manual Gauges.

No telling if you have ruined those threads already.

Have you contacted Smitty Built on just what those threads are ??.

I have seen some companies cut special threads making the company the only source for the fitting .

    Good luck!

I just bought the Halycoil thread repair kit my thread or is in a good condition I haven’t fuck it up yet. However, I did contact to the company they told me m12 x 1.25 I have bought it but it’s not feeling well. It’s kind of playing. I’m about to use the Halycoil see if I can convert to American size here’s a picture.

Is it too late to reinstall all of the stock parts on the compressor?

The experienced kludger in me says that this is a lot of effort for a retrofit, only to have the compressor live a short life because it was never meant for being mounted to the engine bay.

I say cut the losses, buy a compressor that's made for your purpose, put the Smitty in the trunk of the other car, or sell it.

    Best of luck.

If this is not meant to be mounted into the engine bay.

You might need to add extra cooling capacity to remove the heat from the compressor getting Hot is what shortens the life.Along with a mount to absorb the hard ride of a being mounted solid.

I have never heard any fitting every threaded to a standard thread like M12x 1.25 this is going to be interesting to see if this seals.

I like the Smitty brand, but that's a lot of work retrofitting a portable into a permanent install. I'd just keep the portable as a portable. My main concern, the more I think about it, is heat. The little portables get hot as hell. It sounds like you are putting it in a tight space, which will then melt any plastic thats nearby, which will be either the fuse and relay boxes or it will be a fluid reservoir. If you really need a permanent install, get a bigger unit that will both move more air and will be better at diffusing heat.
