Hey all, I finisbed offroading at a place near me a couple weeks back. I've been replacing the starter ever since. Truck drove fine, all the way home (2.5 hrs) and then to and from work the next day (45 mins each way). Looking under the truck now, it would appear I have an oil leak somewhere above my skid, and I have no odea what I'm looking at. Can someone with more knowledge or technical expertise tell me what I'm looking at and what needs to be done before I have it towed to the shop?

It would appear to be the rear main. I would spray it down with some break clean then take is for a drive. Then get under there and see where is coming from. If it appears to be coming from between the transmission and engine, then it is the rear main.

Gotcha, yeah it’s most deff the rear main seal. Maybe try some bars stop leak rear main seal repair. You can buy it at local parts store. See if it slows the leak or stops it. Start using high mileage oil with seal conditioners

Don’t use Bars……it does bad stuff to engines

How much oil are you losing per 1k miles?
Or did this just start/ just notice the issue?

This was just noticed while replacing my starter. Leak rate enough that 5-10 mins of idling left a 3" puddle

No magic in a bottle will fix a leak that large

Take it to a reputable independent shop. The part is not expensive, but there is a fair amount of labor involved.
