    Good morning and happy Friday!

Almost had my day ruined by a 6 point buck this morning. Jumped across the road right in front of me. Saw a flash of movement so I got off the throttle and started braking. Grabbed a bunch of brake just in time as I doubt I missed hm by more than 2 feet. Heart rate was through the roof for a few minutes and damned near soiled myself.

Glad all turned out well with your laser treatment Tom. Makes a big difference in one's vision :D:thumbsup:.

Glad you were able to avoid hitting the buck. A little bit of soiling in the pants (even though you didn't) would be better than the outcome if you hit him . There are 5 deer that were hit within a 3 mile stretch of road by me.
Be safe out there, especially at dusk.

I don't know if it is a word either, but it should be. It is descriptive.

A little something every chance we get.
:rain::pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals and Sue! A lot of rain everywhere around yesterday, another 1.7 at the house. Finally over an average for a month. Everywhere I went, was about as poorly timed as you can get, as the rain did not care I needed to get in our out of the truck. Avoided the highway, unless it got really light, and just drove like an old man the rest of the time. Happily, most others were too.

Supposed to get more later today. Have to put a wiring hole in my new tailgate, and drop off that and the grille at the shop. Might get to some greenhouse swap work, if my foot lets me. Smashed/stubbed in on a stool in the dining room, and it still hurts like heck.

I'm so glad that the Air Force is no longer on the hook for explaining those rectangular clouds in an obvious assault formation!

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Me too, it's North Dakota ya just accept it. My sister in Minot works from home it doesn't bother her too much. It's not grilling weather though. But it will keep the beer cold. No need for ice. More like Phillips SnoShoe Grog weather. If anyone remembers that stuff.

Heading out today for a cruise to the Mexican Riviera. My wife and I celebrate birthdays (she on Halloween and mine 3 days later) and we just wanted to get away somewhere and be waited on and pampered. So we’ll cruise for a week. Then when we get back I have a duck hunting trip planned and then first week of December we’re off to Las Vegas for a couple days and then up to Utah for some r&r with friends who live there. Damn, retirement is great.

    Afternoon all:

Welcome Henry, did anyone mention it's your turn to fill the cooler!

See you were on PBR's, the member you quoted ( @river rat 69--Jim) got banned, all of us that were on here with him wish he was still with us.
Thank you for your service chief, we have enough ex Navy guys on here to crew a small boat,

Thanks for the pictures. Nice looking pup and good size herd of freezer meat :D.

HAPPY Early BIRTHDAY Wishes for you and your wife Ken :hbd:. Enjoy the cruise.

Hi Carl, sure do miss Jim. I figured he would be back under a different name by now. As for crewing a small boat, the bigger the better :D.

    Have a good one folks.

    Thanks, boatswain. Semper Fidor.

He must have been in the Riverines. 69 and river rats.
4 for our crews. Only survivor of 3 crews.

A long time ago in a far away land.

I have a cow hunt here next month.
Just had 2 MT guys for bulls. They went home with 200lbs of boned meat and I got 50lbs of bison burger. And 2 truckloads of oak firewood. Good trade.

it’s amazing how a few days of rain can make such a huge change…last month the extended drought had everything brown and looking dead. Now we are experiencing multiple days of rain, some flooding but the earth is verdant and flourishing, sunset picture off the back porch. We are forecasted to go from the 80’s to the high 30’s by Monday.

Just got back from 2 night stay in Las Vegas to see Earth Wind & Fire! 3 remaining original band members. The concert was over the top! We last saw EWF pre-covid at a Casino in San Diego. The performance was even better
this time! Vegas was packed, crowds everywhere on the strip and in the casinos. We walked close to 8 miles up and down the strip during the day and evening. 82 degrees daytime temp. Easy 1 hour flight from San Diego. Great 2 day stay!
