I don’t understand you. I thought you were dissing on a drop bracket lift because it doesn’t increase clearance between the diff and the ground. My point is that, while it doesn’t do that, it does improve approach, departure, and break over angles as well as make room for bigger tires which do increase the clearance between the ground and the diff. Are there many disadvantages? Yes I agree there are. Do you see them on competition trucks? Not that I’ve ever seen. I think it might be fun to have one to drive over pintos at the mall though

If you are performance minded (as opposed to aesthetics), the first step up is new stock length coilovers with adjustable preload (eg bilstein 5100) , second is extended length coilovers with UCAs (aka mid travel) , third is long travel or solid axle swap depending on whether you want to go fast or crawl. A less used hybrid is mid travel plus a 1” body lift to help fit 35’s with less trimming.

6" Lift RC(Lifted Struts) 315/70R17 on 17x9s w/ -1 Offset, removed mudflaps, trimmed 2 pieces on the inner front fender with the multitool, no rubbing. My daughter is driving now and wanted it lifted. Honestly rides better than almost all the lifted jeeps I had back in the younger days. Came here about control arms but has anyone put stock camber aftermarket control arms on a 6" lift since they retain the stock control arms anyways?

If you have a 6 inch suspension lift?
The only company in America with 6 inch lifted struts for our tacos..that eliminate the strut spacers and as well have 6 inch lifted shocks..is rough country.

Night and day difference suspension and comfort wise.

as well? You might wanna add a one inch differential drop kit to bring back those close as possible OE specs to prolong them axles as well..

If you also are feeling vibration issues upon acceleration? Let me know my guy

New here to TW! I have a DCSB 2013 Tacoma TRD Sport PreRunner with the 6” Rough Country lift. Currently have horrible vibrations upon acceleration, and around 65 mph, will be doing the carrier bearing replacement and U-joints this weekend, from the angle of my UCAs now (they are stock) it looks like the bearings are thrashed now too. Would that help with the wheel wobble? Also, I’m wanting to ditch the 4” blocks that are sitting in the rear, I hear Alcan 6” custom leaf springs will help tremendously with the axle wrap, and the sagging. Any input would help! Thanks!

Did the vibration start before or after the lift as well?

I feel it was faint before, but now it’s pretty crazy shaking. I think it’s from the angle of the carrier bearing and it being worn out. Will know more after we swap it out Sunday. The UCA joints seem worn out, the rubber cover on them is showing the joint now, I’ll post pics tomorrow.

    Mhmmm

a suspension part being worn out then adding a 6” lift might just be the issue of repair or if you just got new wheels and tires and the tires are not properly balanced could be it as well…..

There's BDS too... Their 4-6" kit can be optioned with full-length Fox 2.5 coilovers.

oh okay… I’ll have to take this to a suspension specialist because I’m not sure what it would be. Les Schwab balanced the tires just the other week. I’ll find a good suspension shop in NorCal hopefully that will be able to square this away for me. Thank you for your help!

I have a rough country 6 " lift and my camber is maxed out with stock uacs. I'm currently looking at spc uacs. They offer 2° more camber adjustment which if I'm maxed on stock I would hope that extra adjustment will help.

Adjustable UCA’s might be a waste of cash out stock ones work just fine with the RC lift. I got the same lift

Well I'll see this Saturday at my alignment, see if anything needs replaced. I would like to keep it stock on the uacs . I've got 230k mi on them .

Got squeezed in for a alignment last night everything looked good besides a bad passenger side wheel bearing. Tech definitely said that getting after market uca would benefit me a lot . So spc uca it is . $$$$$ damn I love my truck but damn oh well
