Grass is a bit long and the leaves are dried out so I’m hoping the ZT catcher won’t clog too much.

I swore I was going to get a powered catcher this year but woke and realized it was October already

Beekeeper we have around 40-50 hives and sell bees in the spring

 

Well out to the stand at 615, Florida has youth hunt this weekend in my zone, so my son is able to choose what he hunts with and what to take. He wanted to use my 308 and he has shot it a lot and is very accurate with it. He said he wanted to take a doe to go with his buck he got last week. We get to the stand and after getting situated we here a wheeze behind us, go we grunted at it and silence . Shooting light comes and it was a beautiful sunrise then at 730 a herd of does comes out 6 were and he took a the bigger of the bunch, gave him the go and he fired and she dropped in her tracks, double lung, his first doe , it was the first doe on the property and first time that gun had taken a venison.

The wildlife law stopped me on the way out last night. They thought they caught me doing something illegal. Nope, I'm just the only guy out here still hunting with a crossbow during muzzleloader season so I can shoot a turkey if the shot is offered. They were friendly enough, they've got a job to do, all good.
I had the same 30 yard shot last night and this am on 3 doe, they were looking around like big daddy was very close by. If they walk by tonight, and I think they will, I'm gonna drop one.

 

Had a black buck walk through my back pines this morning. Wife saw it too so I wasn't dreaming. My daughter and I saw the same buck a few years ago while in the back picking up pine cones. Solid black.

I had a doe at 20 yds this morning just before first light, she came to checkout my decoy while I was untangling my bow line with my back turned.

A new contestant showed up across the road last night.

 

Well, I guess that odd dude lives close to this odd dude! Seen him twice and there are no predators close by, so if he just hangs out in this area and don't get hit by a car I will probably see him again.

 

Around 25 years ago there was a white deer in the area, frequently seen in a field 1/4 mile from my house. People would park and watch for it.

This year I stopped at a garage sale over the hill, the fellow had a white deer fully mounted in a standing position -- same deer from all those years ago.

 

Afternoon friends

Opening day of muzzle loader here, Cole and I in one blind this morning and the wife and daughter in the other. Cole, wake up buddy there’s a deer out your side.




He got it done, we watched him fall.



39 minutes later this small 8 walked out and daddy and Cole doubled up out of the same blind. We have hamburger now.



Sadie’s with me now, Cole’s with momma. We are still meat hunting today.

Got the fire pit done, now to get the tire back up. Cole dug it out with the skid steer yesterday while I was at work.

 

yep i used to get checked fishing. I knew one guy by first name, he'd check me but knew i was good. Hes like i know you are good but i still gotta check. Im like yep no problem.
