Does anyone use AMSOIL? I was looking at it and $9 a qt. seems pricy but they say you only change the oil every 25,000 miles. Any input on this stuff??? I always use Mobile 1 and change oil 6K - 7K miles. What is the difference between these synthetics???? Even if I go to it I will probably still change oil around 20K. I just dont understand how this stuff could last so much longer.

if i were you....i'd stick with using the mobil1. i dont care how good an oil company claims there stuff to be.............no way in hell i'd run my oil no 25k miles. i'll stick to 5k changes as usual. have never heard any negative about amsoil, just good things, but mobil1 is great too....just my .02.

    Tint, Clear Corners,
It is really that good. I swear by Amsoil...Only change the filter every 5000 miles but keep the oil for 25,000 miles.

I run it in my bikes and my truck. My oil still looks brand new after 10,000 miles.:)

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.

Times 1000. I had changed all my fluids over to Amsoil in my 98 at 120k miles. Engine ran smoother, idled better, cooler (at least my perception). I changed the engine oil once a year. I changed the filter every 5-7k and topped off the oil level. It was dark but it still felt the same as new Amsoil. Highly recommend it. Worth the investment.

Asking what type of oil everyone prefers is like asking someone what they like better: Coke or Pepsi. You are gonna get a lot of mixed reviews and positive/negative feedback based on personal experience. My suggestion would be to just try it with an open mind. Pay attention to the before and after of the motor behavior. Listen to the motor and take notes. Try it for a couple of oil changing intervals and decide then (no matter what oil you chose).
