They do it at the 2 dealerships I've visited for my spouse's car as well. I think it's for liability more than anything. Either way, I'm fed-up with dealerships doing the incessant emails, texts and calls with deals and dire warnings about services I decided against. "That cabin air filter needs changing according to our records" and crap like that. I feel bad for the pressure to meet quotas put on sales folk by Toyota but I can't afford good feelings.

Yes all stock, I went with stock size tires as well. 265 65 17
I didn't realize that the spare was a 16 inch wheel. I had never dropped it before. I tried getting a 5th Falken for the spare but the damn spare tire rim was a 16 inch. WTF! HAHA

Wow, those look really good. For the fronts, did you have to remove that plastic wrap-around piece (houses the seat controls on the driver's side) in order to install the covers over the seat cushions?

Oh yeah, those guys are pretty funny. I thought about getting a bunch more and putting them all over the truck and rack but it seemed like a bit much.

speaking of too much, there's a Jeeper guy driving around Bend with one of those MASSIVE Costco skeletons "riding" on/in his Jeep. Pretty funny.

Installed Pro grill (non-oem and no raptor lights) and front bed rail. Made and installed traction board holders. I put 3/8" ID clear tubing on the threaded rod to prevent the holes from widening over time and to eliminate rattling (my OCD hates rattling making me stop the truck immediately and fix it). Now just need to head to Moab to test the boards out.

Looks good. What all did you use to make the mount? Pics of the back? I need to do similar.

Thanks! Below is a sketch (yes my handwriting is horrible) . 3/4" in AC plywood with 3 coats of rattle can paint. All of the nuts are countersunk. I would up using JB Weld on the threaded rod nuts / plywood interface as there was not a lot of length to use due to the hand knobs I had are blind hole and not a through threaded. To keep the mount from wobbling, I used a rubber stopper mounted on the back side on the bottom that matched the offset of the bed rail.

I could probably add a bit of RTV over the hole. I don't think it'll be an issue though since the dust cover isn't air/water tight to begin with. For now I just turned the boot so the hole is in the back, away from the tire.

I had my radio off, went about 20 miles on the freeway and about 15 miles on the back roads.
They were quiet. I think the road noise starts more after the tire is wearing down...

Could really use the infinite wisdom of the Tacomaworld folk here. I’m feeling shit out of luck trying to remove this stripped screw in the bed railing. I’ve lubricated it with pb blaster and drilled into it to make room for the screw extractor. I can turn the screw now but the problem is it just spins in place without coming out. I can’t get the screw extractor out either as I hammered it in pretty snug. No idea how to proceed here, any ideas?

To remove the extractor wrap a pair of vise grips in paper towel and put them in your freezer for about an hour. Wearing leather work gloves clamp the vise grips to the extractor and let it sit for a few seconds then you should be able to remove it. Then just drill out the screw and re-tap the hole for a heli-coil insert. That’s what I would try.

CO2 shot applied to extractor as final if freezer approach does not work, or does that just make the metal brittle and risk breaking?

Interesting I’ll give this a shot. What does the freezer and paper towel do for the vice grip? Would I attach the grips to the end of the extractor or closer to where the extractor meets the screw?
