Dewayne this really pulled at my heartstrings. This is one thing we love about Virginia is the rolling hills! We would visit Fredericksburg to the Rappahannock river pulling my Dad's pontoon about 4 hours one way. We loved the town of Tappahannock and the friendliness of the residents, two sometimes three times a year. Sadly my Dad is slowing down and we have not done this for probably 4 years. Dad sold his toon last summer to a young couple who run it on Raystown lake in Pa. Happy to see it go to a nice family who enjoy the boat, but sad to see an era pass. Dad is fighting health issues which I am taking him to treatments back and forth from John Hopkins. Not looking for sympathy but enjoy each win because it can change in a heartbeat...

Saturday was opening day of muzzle loader, my son and I were fortunate enough to put some meat in the freezer. Two 8's out of the same blind, 30 minutes apart.

Then Saturday evening my wife said move out of the way boys.

Now to see if we can get baby girl one this weekend.

We have two fridges and ran out of burger 3 weeks ago, hopefully it'll all fit in the freezers :D

After he shot I told him to be quiet cause I hoped to get something. He ask me what I was going to shoot, I said if it resembles a deer I'm pinching, I haven't shot one in 2 years. Been taking him and his sister and it was time for the old man to get something :D

Plus it was really neat for him and I to shoot out of the same blind, I got his on video. He got mine trying to get up on video, we got to work on his camera time

This year I’ve been really busy at work. Getting into the woods has been difficult. We ran out of venison last week and I finally had a small window to hunt.

My little girl is three and wanted to tag along. It’s muzzleloader season in my zone so why not.

During the walk to the stand she found a turkey feather to play with.
    IMG_5409.jpg
We got situated in the stand and took a few pictures. A beautiful day.

A big bodied six came out with a younger five. The freezer needed filling so the smoke pole did its thing. My hunting buddy did awesome!! She kept still and was quieter than I expected.

My hunting partner with a hard earned Capri Sun. An amazing hunt that both of us will never forget. Plus the freezer is no longer looking pathetic.

Well when I checked first thing this morning (sans corrective lenses) I thought this was just my weird racked 8 point standing way in the background... But some contacts and zoom seem to prove otherwise. Maybe he will stick around and my wife can put one on the wall this year... if he doesn't come out on me first lolScreenshot_20231030-085337.png
