Has anyone modified the bottom cushion seat bolstering? On my new truck the bolstering is hitting me on both sides and has kicked off some terrible sciatica. I love the truck other wise but I can’t stand to drive it.

And yes I test drove it and no it didn’t bother me during the test drive. And no the dealers don’t let you do 24 hour test drives or anything like that.

Give it 6 months to break in . That’s how long it takes for the material to break in .

A buddy rides with me on occasion and complained about the same thing. I got a gel seat cushion that he sits on now which seemed to fix the issue.

Oddly enough I complained that mine didn't have enough bolstering.

Put some clazzio seat covers on it. The center foam in the covers will downplay the bolsters.

Bonus, I used a roll of 1/4" neoprene to cut shapes between cover and seat, and made it much more comfortable. In my case, I actually reinforced the bolsters because I can't stand flat seats in a car. You might do the opposite.

Any upholstery shop would shave the side bolsters a bit for a price. Just remember anything is possible for money. Want a solid front axle and a diesel engine in it? Around $50K. Want a different profile seat? Less than $50K but above one dollar.
