I know, not a MPG post, but I was really surprised today. I bought a Peddle Commander a couple weeks back and have been using it in sport mode around town. Today I had to run 75 miles up north and back. So on the way up I set it to Eco mode, averaged 18.8 mpg. On the way back I filled up the gas tank to the level it was for my ride up and decided to go to Eco mode +2 and got 23.5 mpg on the way back! It for sure saved me some gas.

    Nice work! Looks great.

Per @Jbbarrette, that's the power connector for fog lights.

I finally installed the Toyota OEM remote tailgate lock I bought a month ago.
Install was pretty EZ. Would have been easier with a lift. I have big hands & arms so getting to that plug under the front seat was a pita. Also the metal ties at muffler were a bit difficult. Everything else was a piece of cake. Works great.

    Congrats!

I got a couple of those metal ties on but nothing I had would cut them. So I just rolled them up like a fruit roll-up in hopes they don't puncture something later.

But yah, it's much easier than people expect. I was afraid to do mine until I opened up the tailgate and figured out where and how the mechanism sits then I was like, "screw it. let's do this thing!"

Thanks! Does that mean fog lights actually are plug and play with a new switch and lights? I thought new wiring had to be run if it didn't come from the factory with fog lights.

That would be great if you can keep up that MPG. Before you get too excited, maybe check the altitude at your start and end points. I get about 10 going up my big hill, and 30 going down it. If you are in OH, your hills may not be as big but any hill makes a difference.

Today, just wash inside and out. Truck hasn't had a bath in 2 months.
The (snapback) from Amazon works great on the plastic.

Just wondering, I used to swap factory parts on hundreds of GM cars and trucks, including wheels, beauty rings and center caps. I bought my 1st new Toyota truck last year, and I'm keeping it mostly stock. I like the original 16 inch standard steel wheels, but are there other Toyota center caps that can be swapped and fit these wheels without any "customization" ?
I saw another third gen with some black center caps on these wheels at an intersection last week, but I didn't get a closer look to see for sure if they were Toyota pieces ... Just asking, ... if anybody knows some suggestions.

1st wash of new truck. I went ahead did decon and Clay, then 2 coats of turtle wax graphene ceramic coating. 1 time trying the turtle wax and I have to say it was very easy to work with.

    IMG_0680.jpg

oh and I finally installed the OEM mud guards, hopefully they keep some of the crap of the side of the truck.

Toned down the look of the garnish. Made it look more natural. I had tint on there and it looked great but with tint not really being for exterior use I used my cricut to cut some laminex (just a basic rectangle with curved edges). Looks good and will last and add a little protection.

I hated how bright the grey was on the non oem garnish.

My OCD always has me doing dumbsh!@

also have laminX on my light bar.

There is more downhill coming back then going, I think it's about 600 foot elevation change, and the wind might have been at my back. Lol! Either way I was happy with it.

I had a 22 SR before I traded it in for a 23 OR. I put fog lights in mine. The connection is for fog lights. You will need an extra harness to continue the connection. You may be able to just swap out the stalk switch for one that has the fog light switch but you will have to check the wiring for that to make sure. I was lucky and had the wiring.
There are a bunch of threads here in TW that will talk about it...including when I did it.

this thread was a big help https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/nitoris-oem-sr-foglight-mod.451495/

Flyback transformer. It was an option that year.
