I plan on storing my 2013 Tacoma over the winter months for an extended period of time (4-5mos) in a indoor/unheated facility. Can I completely disconnect battery and store inside my home? Will this harm the trucks comp. systems or should I just disconnect the negative terminal only ? Thanks for input in advance

No, and its encouraged, some will actually remove the battery and put it somewhere it can stay warm and charged.

Fuel stabilizer is all you need beyond that and its gold.

The battery should be kept in a cool, dry location but above freezing.

A battery maintainer in highly recommended, I also store my truck winters and still have the original battery.

Two units to consider are NOCO Genius 1 or a Deltran Battery Tender.
Both brands are tech leaders and well established with good reputations.
Either model is easily available at online, your local auto parts store or The Mart for around $30.

The NOCO unit has more functions, the Deltran is slightly easier to use, I have several of both and they have given good service.

Fuel stabilizer, unhook the battery and maybe consider keeping a maintainer on it.

If rodents might be an issue you may want to consider some kind of repellent or bait to keep them out of your truck.

Perhaps not a battery tender brand but something similar.

Also I read somewhere that putting a battery on a concrete floor can discharge it so it’s supposed to be put on a wood block.

I read up on longer storage. There’s a marine engine fogger aerosol spray can. This was a long time ago, it said to spray the carburetor with the engine idling until it stalled. It would leave a coating of oil throughout the intake and exhaust. Not something I’d do with a maf sensor.

Fuel stabilizer like Bishop84 suggested. I’ve heard a couple opinions on how to leave the tank. Some say full as possible to help prevent rust inside. Some say low so when it’s time, you can add fresh gas to dilute the old stuff.

We always just fill the tank full with non-ethanol gas, put the battery on a tender and call it good.

remove battery cables or at least the NEGATIVE one/s

    Diesel totally different than gas.

OP for 3-5 months, Treat a full tank with some Startron enzyme treatment make sure to run it a bit to circulate the treated gas in the full fuel system (make sure the truck got fully up to temp for a while - say highway drive of at least 15 miles - before parking for its final stop). Park disconnect battery and bring it inside away from freezing temps, pop on a tender from time to time. She will fire right back up when you reconnect

Stored outside in the Cascade Mtns all winter. Disconnect battery, store inside the house. Lasts longer. Fill gas tank to the max, fuel stabilizer and a can of Berrymans B-12 to prevent moisture. Spray under the hood and gas tank wiring with rodent repellent. Make sure every crumb of edible material is cleaned from the cab, which, along with the engine air intake, is screened off from mice.

Yeah you shouldn't need to do anything besides add some fuel stabilizer and fill the tank to full and get it to circulate a bit before parking it. Take the battery inside your house if possible, I do this every year for my miata and it always starts right up in the spring, battery usually holds the charge fine all winter long indoors. You want gas tank full as possible to avoid any surfaces for moisture to condense from what I understand. Personally I do an oil change first thing in the spring but I'm sure one before and after would be the "best" method but overkill for only 4-5 months imo.

Are the tires good to sit in one spot like that (not on blocks) for 5 months?

after a few years, tires will get a flat/dead spot
Heat them up in the sun, inflate to max pressure and let cool after a few hours
go for a high way spin 5 Lbs under pressure and hit some corners to get the flat spots out
    Fill up to norm PSI

worked well for me over the years
