It's less Tacoma and more mod
I always seem to find my way back in here because it's the only thread actually discussing suspension not just bolting parts on. So here I am again considering a rear swaybar and y'all are talking about it. Mostly was going to see what DIY swaybar kits you guys had experience with.

I did my LT out of order. I did the front before the back and didn't have enough patience to do it all at one time. I've had it for about a month now and I keep thinking about how much better the ON ROAD performance is over the stock TRD Pro suspension. Winter is here. Hopefully I get around to finishing it before the spring.

ha that’s how mine went…. Still don’t have 37’s though but it’s hard to fit them even with how little is left of my front end…

TK1 has some bars that are similar price or cheaper than diy kits from what I have seen. Tony is very helpful and My math says u4 bar with 16-20 ish inch arms would be a good range for my 4 runner . Doubt it is far from your tacoma, I can send spreadsheets of estimated force at different deflections if you like that stuff. Procrastinating ordering one till I do the next big revision along with some other fab work.

@cbechtold recently got one, he may have some advice.

Take what I say with a grain of salt, I'm still learning about this as I go, bit here's sort of my thought process. I went with the TK1 Racing Ultra4 series bar and 18" arms for my needs. I don't need something crazy stiff, but I was looking for a nice middle ground between enough to control the body roll in the desert and still provide good results in the rocks when it comes to flex. I know for IFS and trying to build a rig that works well in the rocks, the desert, daily driving, overlanding, etc., trying to control body roll of 2.5 16" coil overs through just spring rate and valving wasn't going to be enough. Either spring rates would be higher than I'd want or valving would have to too stiff to control the body roll on the road and desert with the roll axis and anti-squat I'm thinking about going with. Adding a sway bar just enables a bit more flexible tuning for everything since the sway bar can control the body roll, while the springs and the valving can work together for controlling the rig with the overall ride quality. In the end, I'd call Tony at TK1 and talk to him. He's super knowledgeable and he'll steering you in the right direction for what you're looking for.
