Nope, my front is at 1.55”. My rear is just a tiny bit higher and I have the AAL plus a .5” shim underneath.

If you did 1.55” up front with a stock rear, your truck would squat even unloaded (the front would be higher than the rear).

I've got the 5100's on the top setting and a 1" block in the back. Rides a LOT better than the stock hitachi shocks that the sport comes with. I have yet to put tires and wheels on it so my wheels and tires look small for the minute. I'm having trouble making up my mind between 265/70R17's and 275/70R17's. I want the extra size but I know that equals more money per tire and more weight so less mpg..

Thanks for the input. I have 265/70/17s and hwy mpg 18-19, same as the stock 265/65/17s but then again, I really didn't change it much other than A/T tires and a 9" Black Rhino wheels/0 offset.

Put the fronts at the 0.65 or 1.1" notch. If you go more than 1.1" your front will be higher than your back end. Known as "bro-lean" or, something like that.

Put 150lbs in the back free leveling kit. But really though leveling is fine until you want to put anything in the back with the stock leaf pack. Next thing you know your driving around with the cali squat.

End of the day the 5100 will do what you want. As stated by others best practice is to do all 4 however

Hahaha...believe me, I thought of that. I'm gonna hold off until I can pull the trigger on all 4 for a nice lil upgrade from the bilstein 4600s stock I have on now. Thanks!

Actually the "bro-lean" you I believe you are referring to is side to side (left to right) - not front to back. I usually compensate for this with slightly different lift sizes (left and right - they are lower on the left so larger lift on the left) in the front only.

That's taco lean bro lean is front to back generally because someone slapped on a spacer kit to "level" but had to much lift

OK - sorry thats a new one to me - the only lean I had heard of was the left to right. Thank you for correcting me!

That's a horrible idea. What time?
I had 265/70/17 on my sport stock rims. I had to run a 1.25 inch spacer to make sure the tire didn't hit the UCA. I had about a 1/4" clearance at road pressures, but my concern was deflection on potholes and airing down for off road. I now have the same tires size in KO2's with a -12 offset on a 17x9 wheel. The UCA clears, but I've had to some cutting and hammering to avoid the rub in the fender wells. If your not going to lift it you will probably have some issues at a 275/70/17.

If you have the TRD Sport it comes with Hitachi Shocks, not bilstein 4600's. The difference between those hitachi shocks and the 5100's is amazing in my opinion.

I already have it lifted 2" in the front and 1" in the back. I think the trouble you're having is also with the width of the rim. If I run the Toyota SEMA wheels, they are 17 x 7 with a +4 offset, instead of the 17 x 7.5 with a +30 offset. By putting a rim thats 1.5" wider even with the offset at -12 your still close to the UCA right?

I have RWD, not 4x4....I wish now I should've waited 10-12 months for a 4x4 but I had no ride back in Feb 2022. I do believe they're the 4600s esp since a couple shops asked me to look under to see what color they are. The damn dealership had no idea, smh. Btw, are Hitachi shocks blue & yellow?

If I remember correctly they were a greenish color but I could be wrong... You might have the 4600's. Mine is a '23 4x4 and it had the hitachi shocks, as soon as a I changed them I felt a world of difference, even with the truck being higher up, it felt a lot more stable and planted on the road and going around turns.

Well I'll be daaaaamned......just took a look again, searched the internet, called another dealer & some shops - you are absolutely correct! I do have Hitachi shocks as I have the TRD Sport RWD...."While the TRD Offroad has Bilstein and the TRD Pro has Fox, TRD Sports come with Hitachi shocks. These shocks are tuned for a firmer ride and more geared to on road than off road.Sep 26, 2021"

    upload_2023-10-31_11-51-28.png

Thanks for the clarification! I will definitely look forward to replacing these with the 5100s all around...haven't been bad to be honest, but I plan on keeping this taco for a very long time, lol.

No. The -12 pushed it away from the UCA without an issue. Aired down I still have plenty of clearance. I'll have to get a couple of pics. I don't have any of the wheel set up with the new wheels and tires.

It might not be too noticeable, but it's very noticeable with 2'' up front and nothing in the rear. (ask me how I know)....

I did 2'' in front and 1'' block in the rear, and I'm perfectly level all around.
