Yeah, I'm not disappointed. I didn't expect it to deliver huge gains or sounds like a magnaflow - I just wanted my low end, a little grunt, and a cleaner engine bay - I feel like I got what I paid for.

Fun to remove a big piece of plastic from under your hood.

For sure, I don’t expect much either but sound and looks are nice. I’ve run out of cheaper mods to do so this will probably be my next one. Thank you!

    No worries.

I can't speak to the V6 version but I assume it would be similar, maybe more cab noise since the lower rpms?

1" rear drop. Currently sits 34.5" in the front and 35.0" in the rear.
I was going back and forth between the afe cai and the hps intake hose (resonator delete). After watching this video, I’ll probably just stick with my afe pro dry s drop-in filter with secondary filter delete. A better mod may be exhaust related if I want power and sound. https://youtu.be/d1dHChRGA0U

Im using the HPS intake hose, i also use the TRD intake funnel /velocity stack (whatever people call it) in the fender and cut out the charcoal filter with no problems with performance. I still get 21-22mpg on the highway with upsized tires. i used to build track sport bikes, i didn't watch the entire video he was way too boring. but the pressure waves at least in bikes are absorbed by the volume in the manifold and ideally send the waves back into the intake valve at the perfect time for more power. this is a very high level of engineering it will make a difference in F1 racing but nothing no one will notice in real life. its hard to say you lost power when dyno's say otherwise. if the aftermarket intake is designed to that level of engineering you'll see fractions of an HP so it's not worth the time for someone like HPS who claims 11.4hp improvements already when the difference would be maybe 11.8. I did this exact tuning to my Mv Agusta F3. i ended up 3d printed a tuned intake box and dyno-tested it. Wasn't even worth the time, this also only works if you have full control over the ECU

I'm curious if this setup help out with anything at all? Improved throttle? Improved mpg? Or anything at all.

It made the intake louder with high RPMs. I can’t say it did anything else besides that. I ended up taking mine off when I started towing because the noise level and duration is ungodly when pulling a hill.

So you actually cut out the resonator and then replace it with a silicon tube? Just like the picture on the first post?

I did a similar mod with mine and what I notice is it holds gears longer on inclines without having to downshift. Slightly better throttle but no noticeable gain in mpg.

Noise level is similar to stock but has a rumble in higher rpm which I barely reach in my daily drive. I just ordered and waiting for the flow accelerator to see if it improves anything with my set up.

Yeah I didn’t notice the rumble very much either until I started towing. One trip and it was off. I have the flow accelerator too, not sure if it helps much but it definitely opens the feed throat which can’t hurt.

I'm assuming you have tried this already?

No but I've read many instances of dyno results that prove it will not affect performance. Save your money

I bought the HPS silicone tube, didn’t really care for it but too loud for me. I guess I’m an old fart now.

I end up buying the bits and pieces and basically have the TRD air intake but I use Wix filter.

it still has a resonator, it’s quite a bit smaller. For me it’s a very good compromise. The date out there basically shows it’s a waste of money…..but I like it.
