I am a big fan of Reid...glad he got his ring(s). We paid Murray, so I think we keep him. Plus we have a new Coach and GM, I think they will try to get a read on Murray before anything happens. Hit attitude has seemed to change since Gannon has come in. It is either Tune or Murray next week, I wouldn't be surprised if it is Tune.

49er’s will never get a true starting quarterback, Shanahan’s ego won’t allow it. He always has a project quarterback that way he gets all the credit for the offense.

 

That kind of true.

 

What a difference a few weeks make. KC and SF were both in the top 3 of the power rankings almost every week so far, now they are 4th and 8th. And I think 4th is a bit generous for my Chiefs.

 

The season has taken a turn for the interesting

 

Not sure what to think of the Dolphins yet, 6-0 against bad teams and 0-2 against good teams. They play the Chiefs this week and finish the season with Cowboys, Ravens, and Bills. They’ll have to win a couple of those to make me a believer. We will see.

 

Shanny wants/wanted Kirk to be his QB. Maybe it’ll be easier now that he’s in his final year on contract. Injured achilles and all.

 

Like it or not you have to give props to the Eagles for winning good, bad, & ugly, they all count. They’re on top of the pile for now. Shanahan wants a low risk game with a smothering defense and dominating offense but the league stopped cooperating. Wilks might know the plays but doesn’t seem to be able to orchestrate it and keeps playing catch up instead of using that roster to dictate play.

What I meant was maybe the defense can get to opposing QBs now. I still believe young Purdy has skills. Unfortunately, the Niner O line has been an issue for some time as far as protection. Last season they flat ran out of QBs lost to injury. This season the O line is ranked about 18th in the league, Eagles are #1. Niners seem obsessed with defense while not getting the beef they need to give the QB more than a millisecond to get rid of the ball.

 

Close but I think it’s more that the position like any other has to be evaluated based on value/cost and rookie contracts offer so much cap room for keeping and signing other impact players that the standard of play for keeping a high price contract is elevated. You have to be worth the cost in other players. Jimmy wasn’t. Purdy is good enough to put them ahead of the curve but only time will tell if he’s good enough to stay there when his salary comes at the expense of veterans and FA’s.

 

I think people overrate Belichick's staff at times..specifically, overpromote them. Peter Principle in the NFL.
