@greenEFSI is to go-to guy for the cam gear install. He can do them in his sleep. I went to him for the install and I'm no where close to SoCal.

I don't recall but recall my lower was pretty off but haven't noticed it being bad. The top was spot on. In many ways, you take the gear off in one posting and replace it. the cam gears no matter what the lower part is seems like they would always be in the same if you line the top part. this is also me not fully understanding timing but was trying to understand how if it comes off one way and can only go on one way (if the lines up top match) how would it matter on the lower part.

The install really isn't that bad at all. It's super straightforward. Like noted, the cam nut is the tightest part. And you need a crows foot for install.

It wouldn't; basically if your timing up top is spot on and it's off at the bottom when you check the timing, then that means the bottom was off before you installed the cam gears.

A degree or less shouldn't make a noticeable difference in how the engine runs. Shouldn't.

If you down for a used set. I think about 30k on them. I got kelford cams to install and was not going to put them back in.

So I have a p0456 code that keeps coming on about every 2-3 days after I turn it off. I know it's a very small leak per the readout. I unfortunately know it probably has something to do with the URD fuel pump install I did 2 weeks ago.

Should I go back with silicone or something and seal all the lines I had to "quick disconnect"?

I would just go back and make sure everything is tight, both the quick connects and the various hose clamps. Could possibly be your gas cap?

Soooooo, it looks like I may have bit off more than I can chew. Thought I found an deal and just bought a Blower itself (no additional parts), thinking buying the install parts separate would be cheaper than going for an all new unit. Researching the install bags separately proved to be more difficult than I thought. So I reached out to SCOL for the cost of the install kit....... $4895.00! Just looking for advice on a way to move forward. Do I now just have a paperweight that just cost me a few hundred dollars? Or is there a way to source the install kit for alot cheaper than SCOL lists it? Appreciate any feedback.

how much did you get the blower for? Many of us have backed off from used blowers due to this. You can buy the various bags from SCOL (that's where Magnuson will send you anyway). The only other option is to hit up this thread and others to see what parts they have laying around. A few folks have done this but you will need to buy some fit kits from SCOL if you decide to keep it. Most if you are missing a ton its cheaper and better to buy new then piece it together.
