Got a CEL about 2 months ago when I first got the truck. P0032. I was doing a lot to tune it up since it was time for maintenance so I just cleared it and waited.

It came back 2-3 weeks later. Researched it and learned it has to do with the front A/F (O2) sensor. Replaced that with the true Toyota Denso part to the tune of $160.

I was shocked to see the stupid CEL come back on yesterday (2 weeks later). You guessed it...P0032 again. Following the factory service manual, I followed the flow chart. Since I knew the sensor wasn't the issue now, I moved along to the EFI relay. I tested that out for continuity and resistance, and operation. It clicked when it should, and tested identically in all situations to the adjacent relay in the fuse box, which is the same part. So, I think the relay is fine. Last step was to test the ECM, and it seems like that tested fine to me too. Got voltage through the pin receptacles that it tells you to test (got 12.2 v). So...that just points me to "replace ECM". Come on! Really?

I have no ideas what a good used 04 Tacoma ECM runs (or how specific I need to find one (auto vs manual, etc?) but I'm betting it's not cheap. I HATE CEL's, so I really want to fix this, but, if the error really doesn't ACTUALLY matter, and the fix will be a fortune, I may just fix it with black tape! It would really bug me to not have the CEL function to catch new ACTUAL problems in the future, with that "fix" though.

Any other thoughts on this P0032 and what I can do to try and attack it?

    Thanks

Need more info on truck - mileage, engine, yr, etc.
Have you replaced BOTH O2 sensors?
I did my front first & 3 wks later the CEL was back on. Did the rear and no more CEL!
Get your Denso sensor from Amazon.com for A LOT less than $160!

P0032 is only for front sensor (bank 1). The sensor has to be the true A/F sensor, not the cheaper O2. I got mine at dealer cost, at $155. I did find them online for $140 or so, but with shipping it just wasn't worth it to save $2 or so.
