Ohlins 2.5/64mm shocks

Ohlins is introducing the ORX Concept shock at SEMA.

 

Definitely interesting. Nothing but good experiences with Ohlins on past 2/4 wheel vehicles.

 

I've never run Ohlins on anything except performance vehicles. I didn't even realize they had interest in the 4WD market. Cool.

TBH didnt even know Ohlins made shocks for vehicles.. also never looked into it. their MTB stuff is really solid tho!

I have their shocks on my Volvo. They're adjustable but kind of a PITA to access because you need to jack the damn car up to get at the rears.

 

Torspd has a front set.

 

Hopefully this will be an expansion of the ORQ 46 and 50mm dampers, which come in universal off the shelf versions.

Shoot. I cannot even remember how many years that I have had Ohlins coilovers on my truck. Let me check.

Hopefully they're experienced in the demanding field of parking lot broverlanding.

 

Had they had these back when I had them make mine, I may not have gone lowered.

They have the standoff to fit the front axles, which mine do not. Of course, mine weren't that style either.

Those make me want to raise mine back up now.

 

I built/prototyped these WRC spec TTX44 into a coil over for my Tundra back in 2009ish. Could not get Ohlins to bite on producing a larger damper in bulk back then… glad minds seem to have progressed a bit in North Carolina.

I like the slanted reservoir support.

 

Might have been influenced by minds in Michigan, now that Ohlins is owned by Tenneco (Monroe/Rancho/Moog).
