Why so many battery threads

I’ve noticed that there are a lot of battery threads in here. I don’t understand why. I find batteries boring.

When I need a new battery, which was about 7 years for my boat, I go to the nearest auto parts store, tell them the make and model of my automobile, they hand me a battery, I pay them, and walk out. This low stress strategy has never failed me. It’s similar to buying light bulbs, milk, toilet paper.

Why are there so many threads about batteries? Am I missing out on something?

 

Because forum members keep making new threads about them.

There are also threads about dog piss on tires …

 

There’s a tad more anal retentiveness here than other forums.

 

It’s because you can’t use certain brands of batteries with certain brands of oil.
If you mixing the wrong oil with the wrong battery, bad things can happen.

 

The lack of using the search function.

 

Battery technology is quite fascinating for some of us. I find baseball boring but millions love it.

 

Batteries are interesting.

You must have very Good Auto parts stores to get a battery that even fits the first time.

The 4th gen guys will probably have a field day once the hybrids are out.

 

In this neck of the woods it's bat-ry not battery, maybe that is why there is so much discussion and confusion?

 

Because it's a common DIY repair you can easily do in your driveway, and then talk about and try to sound smart. Same reason there's a million oil change threads

 

for our friends who are colorblind, cant read or failed 1st grade math, it might not be so simple.

 

That first grade math was brutal took me 3 years to be able to move on.

 

I find batteries boring too.

So it's settled. We can't have anymore discussions about them...

 

Need to make room for all the tire and oil threads

 

People always want to come up to me and talk about my battery. It's really annoying
