Battery, oil and tire threads are all the same. No one really knows jack shit about them but they all know the best one is the one they have and use. And the reason it’s the best is because it’s the one they have or use. And after reading thousands of posts about batteries, oil and tires has anyone really learned anything? Anyone feel enlightened? It’s not Friday yet but anyone want to know what the best oil is? (Hint - it’s the one that I use.)

No money, all went to truck...
because they always die and cause a different variety of symptoms when dying and are sometimes difficult to find... So people talk about them.

Speaking of batteries, I just got a factory sealed Optima Redtop. Opened the box, horrible QC, covered in scuffs/scratches, clamp marks and grime on the terminals, only 80% charged. Factory Optima stickers are on top of the scuffs and scratches, so QC issue and not used. Looks like it was manufactured inside of a converted chicken coop. Got a refund, retailer told me to keep it. Won't buy Optima again.

    Smart?
I’m the guy that left drain pan plug in in the oil drain pan.
Crawled out from under the truck to let oil drain. Came back outside to a driveway full of oil.

    This plug. Remove it first……

Toooo beer faaair- tying together chemistry and rheology is above even the average chemical engineer. Hell, I have a rheometer at work with a controlled temperature cell (a long with a bench full of viscometers), and I still don't understand that crap. Therefore my oil is best because I say so.

Batteries have more tangible, easier to understand measurements and have standards of comparison, which makes them well within the grasp of the average DC nerd hobbyist. My battery is best because I say so, but I can at least describe why it works for my application.

Battery, octane and tire threads all week long. But only one "can't get this sticker off" thread.

That was calibrated ballast fluid, obviously. That guy's dog knows more about real off roading than he does.

Dirt Every Day on Motor Trend TV has been cancelled. Not enough folks care when the Food Network has Halloween baking happening.

How long since that appendectomy? Should have used it as a baseline for a tat.

Simple. Those folk get a charge out of it.

Because apparently they suck and last for 2-3 years max.

My original is still good and it gets cold here up north.
