PT398-35160 Vehicle Intrusion Security System on Manual trans?

Hi guys,

I have a 6sp 2021 Tacoma and I would like to install one of these.

I'm getting conflicting information depending on sites selling it.

So is there any one of you who got it installed and working with manual trans?

EDIT:
On a MT Tacoma, the place holder where the Glass Break Sensor (GBS) Mic is supposed to go is already taken by the clutch start cancel button. The GBS Mic supplied with the PT398-35160 kit is has a tall footprint. Which is not compatible with the shorter placeholders available.

So it is required to purchased a small footprint GBS MIC: PT398-00070-CM

It’s just a glass break sensor if someone breaks your windows it’ll sound alarm. Manual wouldn’t matter. Search here for GBS and you’ll see some post

 

I have a MT and installed it with no problems.

The install guide says not compatible because the glass break sensor is for the tall style panel socket, which is occupied by the clutch start cancel button on MTs. There is a post or two about a compatible sensor that fits the other type of panel sockets. That or just zip-tie the sensor behind the panel.

This is good to know. I was wondering why it wouldn't work with an MT.

 

I must be the dumb one, but I read that thread and didn't see THE kit I need. Can you be more specific? I wouldn't know what to do with a short mic. LoL. Connected to what?

EDIT: Nevermind. I get it now. Regular kit needs to be bought, then I need to order the short footprint mic. Because on MT the taller spot where the included mic is supposed to go is already taken for the clutch cancel button. The replacement shorter mic will fit in the other short space available.

Checking to see if you had any issues with the install, same issue with the manual trans, and just checking to see how your install went if you completed it.

I have the kit, but checking on the short GBS portion of the install.

 

I never was able to get one shipped in Canada and Toyota Canada told me to go F myself.

Don't forget to buy the short mic apart.
