Been there, hopefully you remembered to lock your exhaust cam gear with a bolt before removal, if not just follow the FSM instructions for winding it back up

Nice. Reminiscent of my first HG job on my truck on the garage floor with a husky tool set

The Husky tool set is the important part, I started with one of those kits as an XMAS present in like 2009... it's grown into a liability sized collection.

Yep! I used a valve cover bolt to lock it.

Haha, I love my dewalt toolset. The garage floor definitely isn't optimal, but it's a good place to start

I had a nice reminder that I still need a seal on the cab for the back passenger doorway when I removed the Husky floor liner.
    IMG_20231030_190234.jpg
I have no idea how the gloves ended up underneath the Husky liner but they didn't like the moisture either

    :facepalm::puke:

If anyone stumbles across the top seal on the cab please let me know, I don't want my new seats getting moldy like the old ones have.

I installed a new grill on my 96 extended cab 4x4. It’s meant to look like the early tacomas but with a later trd pro look + raptor lights. I’ve seen a few trucks with this on here and decided to roll the dice and try it out.

    IMG_0147.jpg
    IMG_0160.jpg

I didn’t want to splice the (3) LEDs which came wired with a regular (2) conductor to anything existing. I picked up an H4 pigtail adapter with both male and female ends, did some splicing and added it to the LF headlight adapter. The LED side of the lights does come with (3) weather proof connectors for ease of removal.

    IMG_0150.jpg

    IMG_0159.jpg

I added the (2) conductor to the low beam circuit to make it easy. Used my volt meter to verify each of the terminals in the H4 adapter to ensure they match with each other. Ngl, I messed it up a couple times and had to start over cause I’d add it to the high beam circuit. Didn’t fry anything so that’s good.

I picked up a couple cheap depo corner lights listed in BLACK but they arrived in silver. Not sure how that works but since I couldn’t find anything else online, I decided to touch them up with Rustoleum Matte car spray paint. It matches close enough to the grill for me.

Below is a shot from awhile back when I upgraded the horn. Let’s face it, the factory one sucks. Made a quick lil 90 bracket with a relay. Had to make sure the new grill fit in case I had to modify or relocate the horn. Everything checked out.

I'm going to assume this capped off connection is the seat motor power I've seen people using for heaters.

Capped plug is for the limited model driver seat.

it WAS. But I'm wanting to use it for Corbeau seat heaters instead.
I will say i had hoped there would be a matching capped off plug on the passenger side.

It was and I used it to power both for my setup because I only needed one power source.

I'm actually pretty proud of this work. Was inspired by another popular backup camera post on here. Lots of work and wiriing but fairly cheap and easy once everything is sorted out.

I'm wondering if anyone can spot it in the second picture.

 I already forget most of the logic I put into that whole thing but I am sure I have it documented decently enough. If you have any specific questions feel free to hit me up, I do know I bought a wiring key set after that but I also have no idea where it is.

You posted a link to your thread that took me right to the seats and that was pretty much perfect, I also searched the forums a little and saw some half decent info.

I do like your dual rotory switch, perfectly placed.

IMG_8457.jpg Got to clean up this mess today. I guess some juvenile pranks never go out of style… luckily it was just one egg and only on the tailgate. But definitely not a fun job when it’s zero degrees and windy
