I have a 2003 Toyota Tacoma and ever sense I bought the truck the headlights would stay on even if the selector was turned to the off position. The only time I can get them to turn off is when I open the door and shut the truck off itself. I was wondering if anyone has ran into the problem and found a fix. I was thinking either the relay or the headlight selector switch went bad.

Most post 2001 trucks have Daytime Running Lights (DRL). The low beams are constantly on.

If you search the common mods, you're looking to disable the DRL.

You should go to the Owners section on the Toyota website and download a pdf copy of the manual for your truck, and take a look through it. It describes in detail all the systems you'll find on your truck, and how they are expected to perform.

Nothing is wrong with your lights. As stated, that year Tacoma has DRL that are always on. To change that, you'd have to modify the lights.
