    :facepalm:yeah.....no. Even as a worse case, that's way too much and for a parts list that doesn't even make sense. Say it is the third member...you can source used or rebuilts for $700-$1000.....$2000 ish for new oem. I don't know your situation but you could buy the parts, tools, and consumables for under $1500 and come out way ahead in terms of cost and the know how to work on your truck. Definitely get that second opinion.

    Eh, 7 quarts isn't too far off if that's including fluid change after a break in period.

    Nothing at the moment as I currently don't have the cash to address this, but I won't be going back to this shop. One update about the issue is that I recently added some weight (two mountain bikes and a bike rack) to the tow hitch receiver and the sound became much more present. Usually it only happened going uphill between 30 - 40 mph, but with the weight it was present on flat ground (same speeds). I'll update once I get a second shop to take a look.
