<sigh... and sorry for the long post, but need to put details>
Hi guys. Tossing out for possible help :help: ... make a little $$ :)

Haven't been around TW in a while, dealing with massive headaches / BS on a couple fronts. Wanted to throw something out there for the ones actually in WI. Couple weeks back I had posted Mrs. Arcimedes sister in WI passed away, and at the time was looking for legal suggestions (thanks again BTW). It's more of a massive complex cluster F than anyone probably has dealt with or imagines, but that's a different conversation.

The first time she was out there she lucked out and got two guys down a few bays at a storage facility to help move some stuff for a couple hours or two (paid them, did good job). They normally do this for their regular jobs, but went on the side off hours to do her stuff. Doesn't sound like they are available this time for when she can get into a certain storage facility, they are booked with their regular move jobs.

I'm stuck in VT - I AM NOT OUT THERE WITH HER TO HELP, she's on her own. Thus: If any one is interested in making a few bucks for a fairly short, light / medium muscle moving event, she'd be interested in hearing about it and see if it can be lined up. Basically moving the rest of sister's stuff from cleanup company to a storage facility.

    Some details -
    - She can get the smallish box truck from the one storage facility to use for the moving. If a taco shows up might help if there's some goofy octopus overflow piece but most likely not necessary. i.e. don't feel we're trying to guilt you into using one of your trucks lol.

    - Needs (most likely) two people to do the lifting, she's ok to help but not overly strong by any means (fairly small, retirement age). This means if there's two of you local buddies to hook up for this at the same time all the better and setting this up will go quicker.

    - Think "apartment residuals" - some furniture, boxes the cleanup company loaded up, etc. Nothing brutal like a safe, large tools, or whatnot, but like table, chairs, boxes. Was just the sister's (by herself) apartment belongings, so I would think not too bad overall???

    - Area would be from (roughly?) load up at 9th and Bruce in Milwaukee over to unload in a Brookfield storage. Maybe 60 to 90 miutes load, less than hour to unload straight into a storage facility cell, no wacky stairs.

    - Unfortunate time constraints - if weekday, would have to be before 2:30 pm. If weekend would have to be before 9 am on a saturday. She's flying out today (31st) for two weeks and would need it done probably before / on the 13th. Has a few court / lawyer appointments, but she'd be better at giving those details.

She's paying, so anyone interested could make a few for some simple low grunt work. So if you (two) are bored for couple hours and want to get a few $$ for mods (haha) and can possibly fit into the next two weeks, post back or shoot a line. I'm not totally expecting a full on "can do" at all from just posting here, so don't feel bad for us lol! Just thought I'd toss it here and see if there's any hits. She'll probably end up hitting up a few local companies that do moving, just trying to avoid that first and give some TW action if possible.

Thanks for listening / any interest

While I'd like to offer my help, the time constraints and a bum knee kind of rule me out. If you end up needing any names of local movers, let me know. My sister moved into a new place a few weeks ago and I helped her find movers. We talked with a few and I can give you info on our experience and who she went with.

Hey yeah, if you'd like to pass a name or two that would be appreciated. Always good to have local input instead of just coming in blind, like we are...

Thanks too for the good intent to offer - frustrating and sucks that I can't get out there to help her, together. Someone needs to be here at the house, and she really needs to be there to continue to set things up and get estate and guardian stuff moving. And that's where we're at :frusty:

My sister went with Bluemound Express based on recommendations from her realtor and family. She also considered Two Men and a Truck and Hernia Movers. All were similarly priced for her job. In hindsight she would have gone with Two Men. Bluemound Express took longer than the estimate, charged her extra and scratched a couple furniture pieces. She's working on getting some money back from them. They weren't incompetent, just not as careful as they should have been. Hernia Movers is highly rated here as well.

My home was built in '65. Was most likely converted from a fuse box at one point.
    Many were NOT labeled.
    That was fun.

"Hernia Movers"... that's awesome, funny, and a good way to remember the name for the subject business.

    Thanks for the names !
