Did you find the post where I realized I had bought @AR15xAR10 's dad's truck? Back when it was stock. It was probably around that time. I bought it in September 2015

Does this work? :p This was from yesterday, decided work needed to take a backburner to putting myself in a positive mental state and a ride on the moto was the cure.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

Appreciate it! Really wasn't that hard on an enduro style bike, I'd love to revisit on an ADV bike. That would at least make the road sections in between more enjoyable. We had a 45 min ride back to camp on pavement that it got very cold for that was kinda miserable.

Man I feel that right now. Got into a swearing match with a professor on campus yesterday because he was blocking my emergency exits and wouldn't move his car. Stupid shit. The burnout is real and my fuse is fuckin short right now. I already have friday off for a drs appt so we can find out the gender of our kid and go buy some baby stuff, but am debating taking tomorrow off too to clear my head.

If you can easily, take the day. Working on a university campus myself I can +1 to professors being a different breed of entitled.

Those are Givi crash bars. They came with the bike. If I was buying some for a bike I would absolutely NOT buy them (at least on the super tenere). The build quality / design is sub par at best where each sides 2 lower mounts are welded to the main side hoops and go into the frame. Both sides were cracked at the welds and bent on these crash bars when I got the bike. The BENT and cracked side the bike had one small crash on, the other side had never been laid down on yet the welds were also cracked. Givi literally "welded" two tubes perpendicular to the main hoop but instead of a butt joint and a solid full weld around the end of tube they placed the tubes resting on each other with one little weld where they touched.

When I got the bike home I ended up pulling off the crash bars, used the excuse to buy a bitchin lil flux welder setup (all in under 200$) and welded the bars back together, added tons of weld to "gusset" those joints and added in a cross bar to strengthen them in the direction they would typically bend in a fall. Some Rustoleum hammered black paint to finish em off and they are WAY better now.

Good to know. I don't have welding available. I'd want the AltRider bars, but they aren't made anymore. :(

Honestly the lil flux welder, wire, tip gel, anti spatter spray, helmet and gloves was one of the best purchases I made last year, Like stated I have all of MAYBE 200$ into the whole setup. I have used it for so many little projects outside of the initial crash bar repair I did. I highly recommend having that tool at your disposal.

Have you ever had a set of these? I used to put them in several bikes. I really like them.

If I had a garage, shop, or anywhere else to use/store it I might consider it. As it stands my tools basically live in my back seat, so a welder is no on the table.

45F today on my ride to work. Thought about putting the liner in my jacket, but at 61F this afternoon I chose to be cold in the morning instead of hot in the afternoon.

Makes a world of difference. One of my coworkers who rode in today asked me how my hands felt. I told him totally fine. He was struggling because he did not have grip heaters.
