Long post, but it was unavoidable

Unfortunately, that brings child protective services into your house to scrutinize the shit out of you. Ask me how I know.... now understand I have never beaten my child. The perception is all that matters.
I had to go to New Mexico for 5 days and when I got back, cps was sitting on my doorstep. Apparently while I was away, the kid threw himself onto the bathroom floor kicking and screaming " please don't hurt me, please don't hurt me" wtf???I had the kid at the park and the wife calls telling me I need to bring him home immediately.
Cps and lapd sitting my apartment. We were made to strip him down to his underwear to make sure there were no physical marks/bruises. Then Lapd came back the next day..... kid was napping. We had to wake him up and strip him down again.
2nd time, another neighbor called. This one is not so memorable.
Now the 3rd time was a bitch and the most funny. I was fishing and my son decided to take his scooter and head to the park. He was 8 at this time and the place I was fishing is about 50 acres. I drove over to the park every hour to check on him and see if he was ok, hungry or thirsty. Did that twice, before the 3rd hour was up. One of the maintenance workers drove up to where I was fishing and tells me i need to get to the ark area immediately. You might ask, why the maintenance guy is coming to get me....I fished this lake for 5 years at least 2 days a week, and sometimes 4. So, every ranger, maintenance guy and fish and game know by first name.
I take off down to the park only to be greeted by 3 sheriff's. I think my kid is hurt, but they proceed to handcuff me and sit me on the curb FOR 3 F'ing hours questioning me. Keep in mind I took off so fast, that I forgot I had my pipe and weed in my right pocket. Cops proceeded with interrogation and then search me. Marijuana is legal here. Then they proceed to tell me all the bad things they may happen. Kidnapped, molested, ect.. now this is not my first time in handcuffs and being interrogated. So, as they are trying to explain their bs, I looked strait up at them and asked, "when am I allowed to set the child free to do what he wants". Then I made a statement that really pissed them off. Statement... you do realize that everything you just told islike in the 5 percent category. Most shit happens with people they already know, mom, Dad, uncle, priest, not strangers. As I have my son, you can talk to whoever you want, JUST DON'T GO ANYWHERE WITH THEM!
How are we suppose to meet new people if we don't talk to them
Their answer, well that's a judgment call
So I made a judgment call, but some Karen called the sheriff's department reporting an abandoned chid seriously wtf!
Then I got to met cps again and she sits down on my couch, I ask her the same question. When am I allowed to let my child goto the park by himself?
Her answer was the same as the cops...
It's a judgment call. I then politely got up from the couch and opened the front door. Looked at this woman from cps and told her you are more than welcome to leave. As she was collecting her stuff, I had one more question, do have any kids? Her answer... no I do not. I couldn’t throw her out of house fast enough.

When I was still working, I’m retired you know, they used to call me, the grumpy old fucker in the green room.

 

Pretty much a guarantee, no cps workers have children. Yet, they want to tell you how to raise them
Kind of like meeting a Karen in the grocery store.
We were in target one night, my son was about 2 - 2.5.. he took off running to catch up and tripped. He the tile floor pretty hard, my wife and I both looked at him and said "get the F up. You aren't hurt

 

I was fishing at a different lake and my son was about 5. He met a girl and they were running around the lake trails making fart sounds. Next thing I know, they are running down a trail making the fart sounds. My son trips and falls head first into a giant rock. I am over a 100ft away and heard his skull bounce off of this rock. At this point, I am terrified. I expect to walk around the corner and see my sons head splattered all over this rock or at least see him bleeding.
Nope he bounced right back up and continued to chase her making fart sounds.

 

Because I haven’t been here in like 5 yesrs

Funny thing, I’ve lost some of my grumpiness since I retired, however, the road rage still lingers on.

I felt bad liking this post.
I am truly sorry you had to deal with all of that.
Question: when they show up at your door, can't you refuse entry unless they have a warrant?
I would bring the kid outside but the cops are not coming in without papers ...
I also wouldn't say a word to the police - their job is not to help you, their job is to use anything you say against you..


I have never lived someplace weed is legal.
I REFUSE to have the police show up at my house/search my house/WTF ever because some nosy righteous fucking neighbor thought I was committing child abuse by smoking some weed; take my kids/make me do mad shit/blah blah.

I will not have the state up in my personal business and having a kid, seems to make that mandatory these days.
Therefore, no kids for me. Fuck That Shit.


There is a difference between physical discipline and child abuse as well..
But the state is too busy being a nanny to parse it out correctly.
Just like positive/only dog training usually doesn't work - positive/only child rearing is often a fail too
Then guess who does the 'discipline' - the fucking cops when your kid learns they actually can't do WTF ever they want and wind up in handcuffs.


My parents hit me. Sometimes I deserved it, sometimes it was bullshit.
My mom was a 'mandated reporter' - but when my dad hit me, across the face, leaving a handprint = I can't leave the property for like 5 days, she did jack and shit.. .. .. .. that whole system is so fucking rigged it is insane.
Which is, again, why I refuse to have kids and get dragged into that undertow.

The nanny state has gone too far and doesn't even get results [gag/vomit/gag]
CA is the worst of the nanny states - I would rather live in Oklahoma, the poorest, reddest state there is..
