I'm sorry that you feel that way. I'm not a real wood worker so perhaps I've never known if I was supposed too be offended?

Regardless, I won't suggest you post over there again and Congratulations again in completing such an amazing table.

Sorry to hear that, mine has been the same. We’re breaking all the rules with food options to see what’s going on. He was doing so well after a bit with eye pain on a blind, until it was removed. Time is catching up I guess… he’s 18.

Not offended at all. Let me describe it another way... many people are ignorant of the facts, yet speak in such an authoritative way to make it seem like fact to others with less level of skill.
There are only two things that will hurt or kill you in a shop: Complacency and inattentiveness. Hopefully other shop guys will chime in here.
If you do not succumb to either, you will be fine around hazardous tools. For example, if I make a hundred cuts on the table saw, I can easily become distracted. They make a blade called a saw stop for a table saw. It costs $90 and if it comes in contact with your finger it stops it so fast the blade won't cut you. You can do that, or, you can do what I do... I take a short break every dozen or so cuts. I rethink what I am doing. I check my clothing for sagging. I check the fence for dust build up.
Can anyone screw up? You bet. But after many near missed, I have a routine to keep shit from happening again. I would rather some preach about attentiveness and concentration than preach about all the safety stuff you need if you get distracted by a moth.
Even here, someone was adamant that the solvent in my polyurethane would wreck the sharpie signatures on the signing board. Even though I have done it countless times before, he didn't believe me so I tested just for him.
My point, then I will get off my soapbox. I would be foolish to tell some of you how to weld or run a machining center. Now a novice? Maybe a few words, but not anyone here. I trust they know what they are doing and enjoy the journey.
Lol I named all of my saws and wrote their name on them with a sharpie. All of them start with deathsaw, and have a number assigned according to my risk. Table is 9000. Chainsaw is 8000. My jigsaw is only deathsaw100 lol.
    Sorry. Got carried away

So glad to hear the community had a night of normalcy and fun. We lived in Topsham in the mid 80’s and loved the area.

Good morning friends! Hope everyone of you has a great day :hattip:

I got this pallet from work and took it home.

    IMG_0272.jpg

I cut it into a tree so my wife can paint it like a Christmas tree for our front porch.

    IMG_0304.jpg

We took our kids to youth group last night at two different places so while she was gone I put it on the porch and sent her a picture, she didn't know I was making it.

    IMG_0305.jpg

I sent her that and she sent me this, imagine if I made her a table @hiPSI
