I agree. I knew it was coming and I can't count how many times since Thursday before last I thought about calling my Dad and was like, oh, well dang. It's weird. I guess the want to talk to him will never fully go away but I didn't expect it to be so often.

 

I know how you feel. This December will be 3years since my dad past and every now and then i wish for one more phone call, text, visit. I believe when someone is and has such a deep presence in your life, they will always be with you. Over time the memories become less sad and more joyful.

 

My Dad would always come to the house for the Indy 500. It was a thing we started back in 08. I'd smoke a butt and/or a chicken, he'd bring some cold ones. It was a really fun time. This year I almost didn't do anything but my wife said we should. I swear she always knows what's best. I called him and he was stoked about it so we picked him up because he didn't drive anymore. One of the best 500's in recent memory with Josef Newgarden winning it. We both pull for Newgarden. Really a special time and I won't forget it. This coming year it will be different/difficult without him here. I'll cross that bridge in May but I know with his faith he'll have the best seat in the house.

 

I think of it like this, when my grandparents passed . They’re the ones that raised me. That they passed over to the other side but that doesn’t mean they’re not watching and still communicating 1 way or another. When I get to thinking of them usually something happens to let me know.

I had to chew a pt's ass yesterday. This bitch thought it was a good idea to put her hand in my face and tell me to hush multiple times. After her 3rd time of doing it and me telling her "Ma'am, don't put your hand in my face and hush me". I finally told her she wasn't my mother and wasn't going to do that. She then says "I'm an ER pt". I told her "I don't care who you are, you don't treat people this way". Then had the nerve to lie and say I told her she wasn't important. Good thing my coworkers know I may be an asshole....but I won't lie

I guess she didn't see the signs in every room.
