There's a scavenger hunt happening this weekend in Johnson Valley. You have to pay to compete but attending and camping are free. I'll be there if anyone is interested

There used to be something like this out at Salton sea many years ago. I think it was $40 to participate and get a price otherwise to attend and camp was free too. I remember having a lot of fun the times I went. Have a good time and be safe out there!

Heading out to Lucerne 20-22. Staying off camp rock most likely.

Yeah. My general availability is for saturday afternoon thru sunday.

Making camp in the dark of course, might do a separate day trip to recon camping sites. Jawbone should be busy on Veterans day? I'm interested in the 14/395 areas, supposing many will prefer the 14 to cut down on hiway transit. Shakedown / exploration / black coffee / social / whatev / themes. I'll write a more informed post later.

And, I might be avail the night of nov 9 or 10, but I need to be back saturday 11th midday

Stoddard is where we were out before so you should have some familiarity with that area. Johnson Valley/Hammertown isn't too much further from there and is where I will be this weekend if you want to check out something different

Beware of the glamis curbs. I hear your hood may get misaligned.

Believe it or not, while off-roading last season, my freaking grill POPPED OFF and took my $500 cruise control sensor with it. With my replacement, I actually have zip ties running from my hood latch & horn assembly looping through my grill holes lol

You dune in the Taco & Jeep or do you still with the "roads"? I don't see a Taco/Jeep doing well in the dunes with the power to weight ratio.

If I had my 3.0 Kings which I ordered installed, I’d be able to go alot further the deep stuff but the Woops at the bottom of the dunes or on the way really tax my stock suspension. That said, I go where I can with the lines I pick in 1st gear in 4Hi. I’d be able to do a lot more too if the stupid computer didn’t kill my power when hitting the rev limiter even with all my traction control Nannie’s off. When I hit the rev limiter, it kills my power & drops me down to 3000rpm completely out of the powerband. I’ve been duning my entire life so I know how far I can push it before having to turn down when I’m not gonna make the climb. Also airing down to 15psi helps as well. Just can’t wait for my 3.0 Kings to show up. For what’s it’s worth, my friends built crawler Jeep does everything my Tacoma can do since his Jeep is built to take a beating. One of the drives back from olds, my friend was following me in his 4x4 Off-road Tundra and broke his shock, 2” of his neck was missing so his entire shock body was resting on the lower arm mount. So I’m right at the limit of busting shit, I think.

take a look at the YT video I uploaded just now when I was showing my friend who has a Colorado how to dune. It’s nothing crazy but I don’t do a whole lot bigger than these because of my stock suspension limitation.
