After seeing what dealers were discounting the Gladiators to, it was close. I couldn't believe it. The dealer near me was knocking $10k-20k off MSRP.

Danny is killing it getting her fixed up for me before I leave for a weekend trip to WV tomorrow. New axles, full rear brake rebuild, new fluids in all the things, tundra steering rack finally going in and fixing some clutch issues. It's only money, right? :'-(

It’s been months of nothing but work, but I’m starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel and getting ready to build some stuff!

I mean, the bar is pretty low. It appears that my drama wasn't quite over.

Just as I was going to bring up the soon-to-be Ram to get those areas you ID'd when it was last up there with the tailgate fixes!!! Now I get to apparently try and find a dead rodent/animal that appears to have died either in the engine bay or within the HVAC, and since these early Ram's didn't have the cabin air filter (yeah I get to cut out the plastic and buy a filter cap/find one to take from a junk yard)...so wish me luck!

Tried haggling with the old man over his price due to the rodent issue that just happened maybe 2 weeks ago, not to mention he thinks selling it with semi-crackling sidewalls on the original tires (model year 2014) - his responses are classic for my Dad. Tire thing he was like, what do you mean their over 6 years old and have small vertical cracks in the sidewalls, they've got plenty of tread depth, their basically brand new...I just sent him a bunch of tire shop advisory images/pages on tire safety. Still haven't heard back on that matter.:annoyed:
Then when he told me about the nasty dead animal smell coming out of the air ducts when he turns on the air/heat...I asked if he was planning on investigating or taking it into a mechanic to find and remove the source - his response, "I guess when it's yours, you can do that." :bananadead: Sounds like I'll be digging around in the engine bay searching with my nose and eyes...I really don't want to have to take out the dash and HVAC unit (though I'm sure the bugger is trapped in the evap chamber!!), but did find a nice 4 part video on how/what to do. Figured at a minimum a can of Lysol in each intake duct will help kill the then present bacteria and other nasties...

On the positive side...Now the skid can come up whenever we/Chris desires!

You don’t want tire advise from me. I sent a ping pong size rock right through the center of a tire on the rally forester. Had to break it into pieces to get it out. IMG_5059.jpg IMG_5060.jpg

I can always find a use for your skid!we definitely need to do some trail maintenance.

I have pulled an entire key ring from a tire. And an entire screwdriver.

Well voice texting, work interruptions...plus Greg stories, along with completely ignoring proofreading what I wrote, I'm sure it's a cluster of fuckery!
