Still all in my head… but I’m keeping the chrome bumper!
I’m almost there. I have a great shop that services my highlander. Want to just take it to him but was thinking maybe that voids the warranty? I need to find out.

Took my 23 TRD OR into dealership for early oil change and discussed the buzzing sound heard on receiving end. FWIW it appears to only happen to IPHONE users who are on the NON TRUCK end. I am Andriod user and all other Android users I call can't hear a buzzing but all IPHONE users hear it when I call them OR they call me.
Techs at dealer performed test and confirmed my complaint. They also tested 2 other 2023 Tacomas on the lot, and also duplicated the problem.
Service writer says many have came in complaining about this and she said Toyota Corp is aware of the problem and are working towards a fix.
If any of you have this issue, please hit a dealer and make the complaint. They need this feedback and then you are "on record" for a fix when it becomes available. Have a good evening!

Mine has the buzzing sound but only if my charging cable is plugged in to the android auto port. If I use a little cig lighter adapter usb plug it sounds fine. Never use android auto so it does not bother me. Android phone btw

Check the body grounds under the hood. I had one that was loose and after I tightened it friends said I no longer sounded like I was in a swarm of bees.

Here is the solution.... When engaged in a phone call look at the left side of your radio screen displaying the call and select Transmit volume. Move the slider all the way to the left and the buzzing you hear will go away. You have to be engaged in a call to do this so have someone call you. When I did it my buzz that others heard was gone and when I had my brother do it the buzz I heard from his call was gone. I only heard the buzz when talking to other tacoma drivers.

Thanks for the reply. That appears to be a solution for some, not all and not for me. That's what the dealer offered as a solution and it didn't work for me and they acknowledged that. There is a bigger problem here and Toyota is aware of it.

For iPhone there is a phone setting that fixes this. It’s a phone compatibility problem it’s not a truck problem.

For an iPhone, WHILE ON A CALL IN THE TRUCK, swipe down from the top right corner of your screen, hit the button that says something like mic option: standard mic. (Very top right button), change to isolate voice. This should solve your problem.

Interesting. Ill try to see if that helps. I'd still say this is a Truck problem. This shouldn't be happening in a 50k dollar truck. My other cars don't do this and neither does my brother's base model 9k dollar Mitsubishi Mirage.

I’d say it, but this is only the second vehicle I’ve had that has had the feature. 2012 Honda Civic was the first, I had the same problem with it. This feature change fix the buzzing on the Honda as well as my 2023 Tacoma

Just found this in another thread and sure enough it worked for me. I did see someone say it only worked for them for a few days before the buzzing came back but the original poster said his never came back after making this change to the settings on his phone. I just made this change a few minutes ago on my end so I guess time will tell. Here's what he said..."YOU GUYS, i have found a solution! I’ve been having this issue since I bought the truck 1 year ago and I work in outside sales making calls all day from my truck and it’s been an effing nightmare calling clients. If you have an iPhone, WHILE ON A CALL, swipe down from the top right corner of your screen, hit the button that says something like mic option: standard mic. (Very top right button), change to isolate voice. This should solve you problem."
